I understand that paid subscribers might not realize they'll be charged again when the year ends. Substack sends warnings beforehand, but some people might not see them. You can easily manage your subscription at the top right to prevent that.
A few times lately, I get “chargebacks,” which means the bank is contacted that the charge was “fraudulent.” But, of course, they aren’t fraudulent on my end. They might strike people that way because they don’t read this Substack anymore or they don’t want to be charged again.
I will, at some point, offer premium content for those who are paying subscribers. I am still figuring out what that will be. Thank you to those who do subscribe with a fee - I know times are tight, and no one has extra money to spare.
So just a heads up that you might want to decide how best to manage your subscription so that you won’t be charged for something you did not agree to. In the meantime, thanks for being a great community and being so supportive.
I enjoy your content tremendously. Happy to have the opportunity to support your work.
The trouble with your idea of Premium content is your content is already Premium quality. You put so much time into your essays, and it shows. I don’t know how you could improve on that. Maybe you could put it all behind a paywall, but I’d hate to see you do that. We need as many people as possible hearing from you. Keep up the great work. Happy to support your tremendous efforts.
