Greetings, Free Thinkers, I am on a long road trip from California to Ohio to spend Thanksgiving with my daughter. Things are getting serious with the boyfriend, and she’d like me to meet his large, extended family who spread Thanksgiving out over a three-day period. Yes, they have three Thanksgivings.
I meant to put this out yesterday as a Friday drop, but I didn’t finish it in time. It’s funny, when you spend six hours driving and offline, it’s harder to keep track of the many news stories and controversies that clog cyberspace.
But let’s start with this.
If you search this news, Google will obediently spit back all favorable stories of how great it is for the Biden administration to have this much control over the public internet.
But if you drill down a bit, you’ll find the problem:
“The Biden administration's entire approach to the internet… can be boiled down to one single word – control,” declared Commissioner Carr. “But the Biden administration is taking away all the wrong lessons from its failed policies. Rather than righting the ship, the Biden administration is going hard left. It's now blaming the private sector and free market capitalism itself for the administration's own policy shortfalls.”
I do not trust the Biden Administration, or the Democrats in their current form, to grow their powers where the internet is concerned. I was lucky to get online in 1994 to experience a free and open internet. Alas, those days are gone.
George Floyd, Derek Chauvin and Mob Justice
As I listened to Megyn Kelly’s show about the new film about the death of George Floyd and what happened to the nation’s police force that Summer. The film is now streaming, and though I haven’t watched it yet, I plan to. You can find that link here:
Colorado did the right thing:
Speaker Mike Johnson will Release 44,000 hours of security footage
I’m wondering what they will do about the FBI informants, information they have not yet released, and no reporter in the mainstream seems interested or curious about tracking them down. I understand that informants are protected at all costs because of threats against their lives, but that’s part of the story we all need to know if American citizens are going to be jailed like terrorists, given harsh prison sentences, and demonized for a lifetime.
From the Examiner:
The tapes will be posted on a public website and contain more than 44,000 hours of security footage taken during the Jan. 6 riot, barring any video that contains sensitive security information or "information that would lead to retaliation of private citizens," according to the speaker's office. The website launched Fridaywith its first tranche of footage, and the House Administration Committee will continue posting additional videos over the next several months.

Dave Rubin and Megyn Kelly hash out the Candace Owens and Ben Shapiro conflict on Twitter
My take: Candace Owens was playing mind games by taunting Ben Shapiro with her comments on the war in Gaza and essentially drawing Ben Shapiro into a public fight. I thought it was ugly to watch and an ungracious thing of her to do. If she doesn’t want to work there, she should quit.
Meanwhile, reader WilliamJ asks:
Given your distress at the problematic remarks in Tucker Carlson's recent interview of Candace Owens, I was wondering whether you wish to say something regarding Elon Musk's deeply antisemitic posts on X (formerly Tweeter). For example, his recent endorsement of a conspiracy theory popular among White supremacists concerning Jews has occasioned considerable distress.
As you will recall, some months ago you said many kind things concerning Musk and Tweeter. Perhaps you might now wish to consider revisiting those remarks on your Substack. Thank you for considering my suggestion.
For starters, if you are on Twitter, you know Elon Musk says stuff. He has admitted to having Asperger’s, and often, he thinks he’s being casual and funny, and the world throws a fit.
The Biden Administration and the deep state had complete control of Twitter and Facebook before Musk’s takeover. They REALLY don’t like having no control over the platform and are doing everything they can to regain control. They’ve been trying to take down Musk since he bought it. It is SAD to me, soul-crushing and unbearable, that this is what has become of the Democratic Party.
If any of them cared this much about antisemitism, they would deliver a righteous condemnation of the idiots in the streets chanting, “From the river to the sea…”
Ben Shapiro can answer it best:
They’re mad that Musk indirectly criticized the policies of the Left. That is why they’re reacting this way. I don’t think, for one second, they care about “antisemitism.” They pay lip service to it, but they’ve all remained paralyzed and silent in the wake of the attacks of October 7.
Even worse, the disgusting and unforgivable pivot by the Left to deflect from accusations against their side to dump it on Musk in yet another effort to take him down.
The reason I don’t defend Palestine or Hamas or offer up the other side of the issue - I recommend Glenn Greenwald for that — is not because I am a “Zionist” but because I give Israel the benefit of the doubt that they are fighting a just war for their very survival and that there are going to be casualties of that war. What happened to them on October 7th requires that response.
This is what humans do. We fight wars. All of us living on American soil are doing so because people fought and died in bloody battles for us to have that luxury. This is the first war that activists seem to give a damn about because it involves Israel. Where have they have been as the Middle East continues to fight wars over ideology, religion, territory and resources? They did not care.
So now we have a situation where social media is driving us all insane. But I’m not going to “both sides” this issue. Hamas started a war by breaking a ceasefire in a way that would demand this kind of response. This is what that looks like.
The Idiots Praising Osama Bin Laden
I know I’m posting a lot of Megyn Kelly, but she had great content this week. Here is an interview with the NAVY SEAL who shot bin Laden on the horrors of dumb teens, saying he wasn't as bad as what America has done.
A message to the young: even if you think it, don’t say it on social media for all the world to see. The internet is written in ink.
This is what they’re teaching the young - they probably never thought it would get this bad, and yet here we are:
Profanity warning:
Meanwhile, look at the New York Times’ hilarious headline:
Oh really, New York Times? Is that what that was?
And we can always count on the Far Left to go there too:
And then, of course, this lovely headline:
Thanksgiving, 1950s style
Now, compare the kind of propaganda fed to American children in the 1950s. Here, they celebrate the nuclear family, giving thanks even when there isn’t enough money to buy a turkey and feeling thankful to live in a free country. It is, of course, anti-communist in its messaging and pro-America, but the contrast is stark.
I will be writing more for Thanksgiving, but this is all I have for now. Hope you’re having a nice weekend.
