I'm heartbroken to say this, but I believe that fair trials are no longer to be expected in ANY circumstance.

A fair trial adheres to the written law. It judges the specific actions of the accused against the standards set by the actual law, regardless of that person's coincidental sex, race, age, socioeconomic status, political or religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or any other extraneous fact. A fair trial assesses the case before it on its merit, without fear of social, financial or legal reprisal. A fair trial is conducted in a controlled environment (typically a courtroom,) not on social media. The advocates in a fair trial are the lawyers representing the parties - not anonymous brainwashed epithet chanting trolls sitting behind an opaque computer screen.

None of this happens anymore. What was once a foundational pillar of our society has been decimated by billionaire cliques, whispering campaigns, bought-and-paid for lies from our highest office holders and their uber-wealthy donors. There are no impartial judges, prosecutors, investigators, lawyers, juries. There is a "right" (left) answer for everything, and buckle up if you dare even look the demon in the eyes.

Ami Horowitz interviews black protestors in Minneapolis before the Chauvin verdict and asks if they condemn people who want to burn the city down if Chauvin is acquitted. They say “no.” Should the judicial system be eliminated? “Yes.” How many unarmed black people were killed by cops last year? “Thousands! A genocide against black people!” Do we need another civil war now? “Yes!” What percentage of this country are white supremacists? “Most are.” Should white supremacists be killed? “That would be ideal.”

Where did these people learn this poison? From our criminally insane, predominantly white leftist, upper class, globalist, ruling class in the Democratic Party, Corporate America, Academia, Hollywood, BigTech and msm. Does America even still exist as a country? Sure doesn’t seem that it does. A society needs at least some degree of cohesion and trust to be a country. We have none.

Jordan Neely was a disturbed man who should have been already locked up for many of the 41 crimes previously arrested for in NYC. Daniel Penny protected many by stepping up and stopping Neely from harming the other passengers. His death falls on the DA for never doing his job and properly addressing Neely’s crimes and mental health. If a jury listens to the victims assaulted by Neely and still find Penny guilty, there’s no hope for NYC. This will give thugs free rein to intimidate and harm.

The only thing that gives me hope of a fair trial is the fact that Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted in Wisconsin. The media would cover that trial as if they didn't hear all the evidence that was presented that clearly showed that he acted in self defense. They stuck with their preconceived notion that he purposely went there to kill black people rioting, then were "shocked" that he was acquitted. It's easy to be disheartened when you see the media coverage, some of the media, anyway. I listened to Judge Jeanine Pirro on the five and thought, maybe, there are some in NYC that are lucid and clear thinking people there. Another case in NYC, Joseph Alba, the bodega worker that was acquitted. For these reasons, I am holding on to a bit of hope.

Expand full comment

The reason the Rittenhouse trial does NOT give me much hope for Penny is the people he shot were white and one of the people he shot (Grosskreutz if I recall) admitted on the stand that he pointed the gun at Rittenhouse...

On the merits of the Penny case alone it should be an acquittal (and by the way I don’t think it’s crazy that he got indicted.... but some people need to be reminded that an indictment isn’t a conviction it just means their is evidence that there could have been a crime... (laughing as I recall Daniel Goldman asking a puzzled Matt Taibbi whether he agreed with the indictments for Russian election interference). My gut tells me it will be a hung jury... New York is too left leaning to think an entire jury will acquit but I find it equally hard to believe an entire jury will find him guilty (assuming at least a portion the jury have ridden a subway and can relate to the fear of having someone yelling and screaming at everyone).

I live on the northwest side of Chicago and shortly after George Floyd died from fentanyl and a heart attack I saw an article online about a group of people on the south side preparing to go downtown to protest his death. A young black woman addressing this group said that every morning when she wakes up she wonders if this will be the day she dies.

Was she talking about being shot by a black gangbanger who routinely shoot other blacks? Obviously not. She was talking about being shot by a white cop who, according to the left, routinely shoot blacks all over the country simply for being black. Many now talk about the need for more police but no one wants to be a cop in cities like Chicago anymore due to the extreme danger they now face after being demonized as racist murderers by the left. And now after Memphis even black cops are condemned as anti-black racist terrorists. So now we have a totally unworkable society. This does not bode well for our future.

Although there are few signs of hope these days, here’s one.

Ben Shapiro tweeted, ‘Court Rules White Starbucks Manager Was Fired Because Of Her Race, Awards Her $25M.’

This crazy system of justice-based-on-skin-color is showing cracks.

Although local govt officials, the MSM, big tech, the Intelligence community, the Dem party, the Censorship Industrial Complex and the woke mob all believe in this crock, a lot of people don’t.

Stand up and speak truth to power.

By silencing dissenting voices, the left is attempting to make you feel alone by thinking differently. Psychologically, there was the Asche conformity test which demonstrates the extent of peer pressure--and gaslighting. In a classroom setting a bunch of people said a line that was clearly shorter was longer. Being a minority of one made the subject extremely uncomfortable and many did not speak the plain truth before their eyes. Others would, but with little confidence.

It depends on the jury and how they feel.

Daniel Penny is not a cop. So if they feel that they will just have to live with a little tantrum throwing (meaning people blocking the subways from leaving), they might free him. If they actually think these loons will burn the town, they will be more likely to convict him. On the other hand, most of the jurors will have experienced the subway and it only takes one to hang a jury. *shrug* I don't know how this turns out, though I know I feel sorry for him.

You know what’s coming next...some shyster lawyer will step in to sue the city for multimillions on behalf of his remaining family members (also w/criminal records) just like the george floyd case! I used to go to Broadway often but now I don’t even go into Philly (which I lived and worked in for years) which is less than 10 miles away because it’s completely lawless and whites are a major target. Blacks are most of the assault victims and blacks commit the overwhelming numbers of violent crimes, whites are less likely to be the victims but that’s mostly because the whites have abandoned the city when possible. The ones still there are too poor to leave or in expensive secluded lefty neighborhoods.

I’m retired but I had a Hispanic (from Peru) friend at work in Chicago who used to drive for Uber/Lyft on weekends and would also pick up people who would flag him down on the street to go somewhere. He once told me he would not go to the south side at night. I asked him what he tells blacks who want to be taken to the south side at night. He said he just tells them that he was almost killed twice on the south side so he would only go there during the day and then only to a main street, never to a side street. He said the south side is a whole different world which it certainly is.

Everyone I know, and that includes many immigrants from all over the world, avoids the black areas on the south and west side of the city. There is a sense of danger and impending doom in those areas that people instinctively feel that tells them to stay away. Almost like they’re haunted by evil spirits. Plus the guys hanging out on the corners and the stores that are like mini-fortresses to protect the owners also certainly convey the message to not linger there. Many blacks talk of “racist disinvestment” but it’s not racism that causes these areas to be avoided.

Excellent article from 2 years ago by Bret Weinstein about the Derek Chauvin verdict in the death of George Floyd. Our situation seems hopeless but then we live in the internet age with our own superb media plus we have superbly high quality people on our side like Elon, Vivek, Tulsi and Tucker who are not at all afraid to speak the truth so the tide can turn very quickly. It’s always darkest just before dawn. Soon the sun will shine and all will be well with the world. Hope springs eternal.

“And so the conviction of Derek Chauvin sets a disturbing precedent. Today, when people are angry enough to demand something — when they are willing to march and burn and disrupt and intimidate — their understanding of events becomes gospel, and a trial is just one more tool at their disposal. The right to a fair trial is suddenly turned into a mere privilege — something that is only guaranteed so long as the mob isn’t against you.”

Judges, lawyers, and law schools have become increasingly far left, according to those who are familiar with them. The American Bar Association has increasingly pushed law schools to teach woke bias and race focused education. Law students must attend accredited schools, and the ABA is the only federally recognized law school accreditor. It will become more and more difficult to have a fair trial when the entire profession is slanted.

My father was Irish Catholic, my mother German/Swedish Lutheran. I was raised Lutheran. I don’t have a particular religion but I do like it and find it fascinating since it helps us understand the nature of reality. Here’s some books I think you’d like. The one about Satan is really superb. I read it a long time ago and I’m almost done reading it again now.

“The Devil, Satan, Lucifer, Mephistopheles- -throughout history the prince of darkness, the Western world's most powerful symbol of evil, has taken many names and shapes. Jeffrey Burton Russell here chronicles the remarkable story of the devil from antiquity to the present. In recounting how past generations have personified wicked-ness, he deepens our understanding of the ways in which people have dealt with the enduring problem of radical evil.”

“The Prince of Darkness.”

Radical Evil and the Power of Good in History.

Jeffrey Burton Russell

Here’s a passage below from a book by John Gray you might like called “The Silence Of Animals: On Progress And Other Modern Myths.” Gray is one of my favorites on human nature. I used to be an atheist but this is much better. The “nothingness” here is not the nothingness of atheism but the “Absolute Nothingness” of mystics such as Meister Eckhart and Simone Weil. Gray says as humans we live by our stories. I agree.

“Like the golden bird singing in the palm in Steven’s poem ‘Of Mere Being’, they come: at the end of the mind, Beyond the last thought…The bird sings. Its feathers shine.”

“The mere being of which Stevens speaks is the pure emptiness to which our fictions may sometimes point. Emerging in ways beyond understanding, our most important fictions are a kind of fate; but not a fate that is the same for everybody. No fiction could be supreme for everyone or even a single person, for ever. The supreme fiction is not the one idea worth having, for there can be no such idea.”

“Admitting that our lives are shaped by fictions may give a kind of freedom - possibly the only kind that human beings can attain. Accepting that the world is without meaning, we are liberated from confinement in the meaning we have made. Knowing there is nothing of substance in our world may seem to rob that world of value. But this nothingness may be our most precious possession, since it opens to us the world that exists beyond ourselves.”

I think it’s absolutely fair to have a trail in all these circumstances as just to be watching the video of Penny regardless of the outcome of the trail, who is this man to so calmly explain what happened. I took note of what the perpetrator said that he was willing to kill and serve the rest of his life in jail. And in that I think is why these people who were not even on the scene empathize with the perpetrator regardless of the outright fear he engendered in his observed insanity. This black man gave away the game of why the death penalty is so chastised. This man was so desperate to have a refuge for the rest of his life, he was willing to kill to be incarcerated for the rest of his life because in New York there is no death penalty because it is deemed inhumane. He figured out a way to get food shelter and complete empathy by killing someone. Mark that in your soul. New York has set it up to engender a valid reason to kill someone to obtain a home for the rest of your life, granted in a jail, but that’s sure as hell of enough nicer than the street. It’s way more comfy with steel bars and concrete floors then the wild hell of New York streets. And so let’s get back to Penny and his alleged racism. Shouldn’t Penny have known this black man is only doing what it takes to survive, granted it would robbing the life of someone else to do it, but this black man was only trying to survive, doesn’t Penny see that? Penny heard the man’s stated intention and chose the innocent life that would have been sacrificed for the survival of a black man. This is why the death penalty for murder is so inhumane because it would kill poor black men such as this who are only desperate for survival. Everything we have worked for our whole lives in eliminating the inhumanity of the death penalty is as stake because we want to help the desperate black man survive.

So, it is absolutely fair and just to have this trail. Penny who so calmly stated his intention to defend and protect the innocent life that would have been sacrificed for the basic survival of a black man should be judged on the premise that the black man was only trying to survive within the confines of the law in all its humanity. Haven’t black men suffered enough. Shouldn’t innocent life be sacrificed as reparation for the black man. Penny does not think this so. Penny used his sworn duty as a marine to arbitrarily choose the innocent life over the desperation of a black man. And in that yes it is completely fair that whatever the jury decides that is the decision of the society in which it occurred.

In a fair and just society, the death penalty would be a valid option to protect innocent life from the desperate survival of others. And it would be enacted by a democratic society who has agency over any law it deems permissible regardless of which race it affects more. This would then relieve men such as Penny to not feel compelled to employ their sworn duty as marines. The society would be just in its elimination of these loopholes.

What do I think considering all the laws on the books in New York considering in Georgia we have a more just society? Penny was absolutely right if not instantly valid in trying to protect his life and other innocent life from being sacrificed for the survival of a black man. Those involved who weren’t even on the scene are the racist ones as they gave away the game in why they eliminated the just death penalty from their society. They favored the black, so much so it creates an unequal weight against innocent life, and that should scare the residents of an unjust New York and it rightly does. The outcome of this trial regardless of what it decides should be the campaign to reinstate the death penalty in New York to better protect innocent life. Have fun New York...do the right thing.

Treason is defined in the Constitution at Article 3, Section 3, as consisting "only in levying War against (the United States), or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

All members of the American military take an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; (and to) bear true faith and allegiance to the same."

When the military is committed to foreign actions without a declaration of war by Congress, as required by Article 1, Section 8, Paragraph 11 of the Constitution, that is a violation of the Constitution, arguably the action of domestic enemies.

When a member of the military participates in an unconstitutional foreign military deployment, s/he violates both the Constitution and his/her oath to "support and defend" it, giving "aid and comfort" to it's "domestic enemies," committing treason by the definition given by the Constitution.
