IF a Republican wins odds are you are correct, Fire In The Streets. It would not surprise me to find plans are being made now. At least in the preliminary stage.
OTOH if a Democrat win the election had better be pure as the driven snow with no strange unusual goings on. Otherwise Washington DC will find out just what an insurrection looks like. And its not a disorganized bunch of people wandering around The Capital taking selfies. It doesn't have to be violent (though I wouldn't bet against that). What would happen if (say)20-30% of Americans just went on strike? Take a page from MLK. Passive Resistance.
Point being, the reason America works is because we voluntarily participate.
Well, for sure the 1% don't work. They just make money off money. The wealthy no long help build up the country. But passive resistance could be something like refusing to participate in the consumer capitalist society. Stop buying s**t.
I mean “work” in the sense of functions as a country. What still “works” in America? Pretty much every area in America, from race to gender to borders to education to the law to policing to the military to the msm, no longer works and is becoming ever more dysfunctional. America is no longer functioning as a country and increasingly appears to be the early stages of a civil war and you can see this deterioration on a daily basis just by following the profoundly deep divide between the corporate msm and the alternative media such as Substack.
Well worth watching this Daniela Cambone interview with former IMF economist David Woo about our current situation which certainly is an ever worsening disaster. I like this guest interviewed, David Woo. Very intelligent and honest in his assessment of where we’re at. Here’s text I copied from the intro about him and the interview.
"If this polarization continues, we're heading towards a civil war," warns David Woo, former IMF economist and Wall Street strategist. Woo - the creator of David Wu Unbound - explains that the current situation of the U.S. is worrisome given its diminishing influence abroad and political divisiveness at home. "The majority of Americans do distrust the system...
“There's no doubt that the country is so polarized that I'm afraid what would happen next year in this election. If anything happens to Trump, all hell is going to break loose," he claims.

But then I Choose to be an optimist. Or an optimistic pessimist. It is real easy to be all Doom Gloom Despair. Certainly if you pay attention to the news it is. Remember the old saw "If It Bleeds It Leads."
Is that all Sasha is doing then? How about people like Elon, Vivek, RFK, Megyn Kelly, Glenn Greenwald, Bret Weinstein, Kim Iversen and so many others like them? Are they all just gloom and doomsters just trying to get attention?
I wouldn’t bother being jealous of the 1%. Their investment helps create business and future 1%’ers (the makeup changes). A small business that sells so the owner can retire creates a 1%’er that year.
What is important is that competition is allowed and not stifled by those at the top. This propaganda and de platforming are examples of stifling new leaders and businesses.
Good points! Stifling competition takes away the power of the people to evaluate and choose whose products and services they like the best. It does get a bit more complicated, however, when certain companies deliver products and services that the whole world loves, so that those companies get too big and too powerful. Still, it would help if they could just keep their minds on their businesses and stop tampering with politics.
Can't disagree in many ways. Nixon took us off the gold standard in 1971 and we have made less products by the year while the rich keep making money off of money. Main Street capital investment continues to retreat while Wall Street still makes money on the capital investment company stock value if it rises or falls.
And how about the Fed raising interest to crush the economy to bring down the inflation which they created with their flood of money printing? With friends like the Fed, who needs enemies? They’re sure not working for us.
Make no mistake... The absolute basis for our current inflation is the absolute dissolution of our hydrocarbon energy development. Trump unleashed it in 2017 leading to the highest purchasing power of your life and Biden crushed it on day one.
“Will be a red hot summer indeed, just like 1968.”
The Democratic National Convention is going to be in Chicago next summer, just like the summer of ‘68. Considering how dangerous Chicago has become I don’t think that’s such a good idea.
“A group of people beat and stabbed a man and woman in the Loop early Saturday, Chicago police said. Both victims were seriously injured.”
“Group stabs man, woman in the Loop: Chicago police.”
Well how prescient!! That convention and the surrounding shit show will be the best entertainment of the year. Especially if someone dares to challenge old Joe in a brokered ticket. Hello Michelle!
This is the comment I was going to make. I'm old enough to remember the chaos and destruction in Chicago in '68. I had gone to school in Chicago a couple of years earlier, so it was even more real to me. For those too young to remember it, just think of Seattle and Portland in 2020. Samr thing, except that in Chicago the cops actually tried to stop it. But they failed.
My prediction is that the riots WILL happen in Chicago next year, regardless of who democrats nominate, and regardless of whether Trump continues to be a presence. Democrats made their bed, now they're going to have to lie in it.
That is a good site. The “cash bail” removal will be a disaster. That’s yet another example of why I believe the democrats cannot govern. They can only destroy. They are simply too deranged in too many ways to actually govern. Open borders is another perfect example of their boundless stupidity.
People like Mark Ruffalo and his Progressive allies (they don't have friends, they have Comrades...Allies), are always telling me Donald Trump is a Fascist, and so are his supporters. What is interesting is when ask to give examples of this....Crickets.
i loved him in Spotlight and was prepared to always "love" him - dang, another one I have to remove from my list of favorites - it is getting smaller and smaller so I am now only watching old dvd's - please don't tell me jimmy stewart was a monster.
Back in the day when Michael Moore was on my God list, . he went to Heston's home to - in order to confront and embarras him about his conservative activism. I thought that was just great - he deserved it after bragging that- you will never get my gun out of my cold dead hands,
Turns out Heston had dementia but that didn't stop Moore nor did it stop me from thinking how great Moore was to expose all of these horrible people.
Like Sasha, I look back on my "true believer" days with a bit of sorrow to be frank. I was a member in good standing with the Democrats - now I am not in good standing with anyone. Moore is not on my Monster list - he simply isn't worth it. His time as a lLiberal God has run out -he has no deal with Netflix
" I was a member in good standing with the Democrats - now I am not in good standing with anyone." I felt the same way until I was saved by Substack. I still don't exactly "fit in," but that probably is true for anyone who thinks for her-/himself.
My reaction to Michael Moore back then was more like, "my God, they're coming for us." A deep seated fear that his promotion of civilian disarmament was the harbinger of democide.
I’ll never forget movies like “The Ten Commandments” and “”Ben Hur.” Such great movies they made back then. Another classic was “Dr Zhivago.” with Omar Sharif. If they did a remake of Dr Zhivago now they’d cast Zhivago as a black guy which would just ruin it but it would probably win an Oscar and leftists would love it.
Something I've been saying for a while. The Left is not stupid, well no more stupid than the right. Its they are ignorant. They don't know as much as they think they do. They don't know What The Right Says and Why we Say it. What is sadder/worrying is a lack of curiosity to find out.

Biden is a supporting cast member in his own administration. Then who is running this circus? Who else but the last Dem president. The only prez who didn’t leave DC. Who now feels no need for restraint as he will never be blamed for the clear and obvious failures of policies he called for.
This is a time for a Churchill not a Chaimberlain. Be brave. Be strong. Fight on.
Mark, Ethan, Julia and Kevin don’t have to think about violence to Trump supporters, or violence to anyone else for that matter...all they have to do to maintain their lavish lifestyles is to speak the words that someone else wrote with as much emotion and feeling as they can muster. Does their ability to pretend (and deceive) really entitle them to preach to us about how our country should be run? Why we idolize people who “act” rather than those who are real is beyond me.
“They know what they are doing is wrong. They know they have lost whatever value they ever had for the American public as writers, journalists, comedians, scientists, teachers, and medical professionals. They know they’ve traded ethics and truth for zealotry and fanaticism.”
I had the same reaction to Ms. Stone's opinion of the leftist's moral sense. Most of the people I know are leftists, and they are absolutely certain of the correctness and moral superiority of their politics, their actions, their heroes, and themselves.
Paul says it best in Psalm 36 - I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes.In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin. The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good. Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong.
I am sure they don't. They have swallowed hook, line, and sinker an ideology that makes them feel righteous (what do we call people who regard themselves as righteous?) and dangles false visions of Utopia before their childish eyes.
I think they do know. I think they intentionally have chosen to lie, cheat and harm. I think they don’t care, because they all advance in their various fields for the short term anyway. They don’t care about losing value from the half of the country they disdain. They would like us gone. I know I no longer admire or trust any of them. I know for the sake of my family, I will not to let my guard down.
I am unable to give them credit for being big enough to absorb what they can see. Too jaded, too affluent, too self-satisfied to grasp the things they should be able to see. They do not, or cannot, are the victims of their own prejudices, even as they claim those on the other side are victims of theirs. You’re right, they don’t care, want their opposition destroyed, not just defeated. Hate is what they live.
But I still don’t think they realize, any of that.
I really want to know what happened to Obama's chef -- security everywhere and he just happens to end up dead. Obama wasn't there and then he was. I haven't trusted him from the word go and couldn't care less about his pant pleats. Be sure your sin will find you out . . .
The absence of God in chambers of influence (college campuses; Hollywood; media organizations; corporations; public schools; UN; social media platforms; Pulitzer, etc.) has led them to seek earthly gods to worship and glorify. Unfortunately, all earthly gods only bring eventual heartbreak, pollution and deterioration. Outside of the so-called chambers of influence, the true God reigns, sharing a message of love, grace, salvation and true eternal rest. While we might have strife in our country now between God and the many monsters, I’m putting my faith in God, the only source for 100% contentment in life - and death.
Obama is one of only three authors whose autobiographies made me dislike them (the other two were Elizabeth Gilbert and Cheryl Strayed). In all cases, I read the books not knowing anything about the people, so I had no expectations. In particular, both Obama and Gilbert seemed to me straight up narcissists, and Obama struck me as a rather bloodless narcissist (at least Gilbert had human passion).
This was before he was elected in 2008, and during his reign as president, I realized that my impression was right.
I remember the first time I saw him on tv. He creeped me out even without any sound. I never once listened to a speech of his or watched him. He’s a dangerous, made up golem.
I’d suggest a change of “reign” to “term.” No point in glorifying ordinary, flawed people as monarchs even though they may see themselves that way. Supposedly they serve limited terms at the behest of the people, and we need very much to hold them to that.
Ken, my use of the word “reign” was meant as a meta commentary on Sasha’s point, not as a compliment or aggrandizement of Obama (completely the opposite!).
Lefties these days are both Puritans and Jacobins: two different images, one and the same reality.
On a much more mundane level, I noticed long ago that mentions of Trump were much more common on CNN and MSNBC than on Fox: must keep the Devil ever present!
The classical context for scapegoating is one in which there is a lot of obvious dysfunction, chaos, a system disintegrating, problems not being addressed. Having a powerful Demon to blame is helpful to members of the system who can't face the overwhelming scope of the problems, let alone their own contributions to the mess. I have seen a lot of this in families that include a drug addict. The family members spend most of their time together obsessing about the addict's problems, fearing the next relapse, scheming together about how to control the addict, how to confine him/her in a "lockdown unit," then panicking about what will happen when he/she "gets out." They imagine that while the addict is controlled and locked up all their own problems are locked up too, and when he/she "gets out," the mess within the family will explode outward like a blast of diarrhea.
From a family systems perspective, the "problem person" is needed by the system and functions as a kind of steam release. This isn't the only valid way to view addicted families, but there is a strong argument for it, one of which is that many if not most families of this type have had similar issues for generations.
Yes, my mother's mother and her mother before her and who knows before that as I can't track back any further all had serious trauma issues and made sure the next generation had them as well. Thankfully I didn't end up personality disordered being raised by my mother and was able to heal my own interpersonal wounds before starting my own family.
I am estranged from my mother now but have great long-term relations with extended family members and all of my husbands family. Worth the estrangement for decades of happy marriage and two happy, well adjusted kids near ready to launch into adulthood themselves. I do wish my mother well though, despite knowing her odds.
Thank you for sharing your personal story. I too chose to distance some family members after I became an independent adult. It is a very tough decision to divorce blood family, but people I know who have had to do it felt better about themselves, their relationships and their lives thereafter.
They're the greatest gift that Putin or Xi could ask for. Because they are attacking the foundations of western civilization in a way that they never could from China or Russia, not effectively. And that foundation is the core of our power. If that is destroyed then we'll whither away. And we're already seeing it happen. They are destroying science by politicizing it, destroying equality by deciding to explicitly judge people based on their skin color, and destroying meritocracy on the same basis. If it continues then places like Iran, Saudi Arabia, China and Russia will be the beneficiaries.
I really enjoyed that, Sasha... I love the way you weave the movie clips and music videos and their narratives into your writing. The line that hit home with me: 'Give me a good reason to not want him to prevail, when the party I used to call home has killed off everything I loved. Why wouldn’t I root for the one guy they can’t destroy?' I can relate, even though I don't know anyone I can admit that to.
Ha! That is why you are commenting here. Before the 2020 election people could only whisper to a few that they were going to cast their vote for DJT. I think now is the time to speak up . Do not be forced into keeping your truths secret. That is how we got into this mess letting the elites think they were the righteous ones and it has only gotten worse. Stand up!
No one who is familiar with the history of the Democratic party would be surprised by what they're doing now.
They directed racism against black people when that suited their purpose. Now they demonize white people.
Many people sense that Democrats are intent on destroying the US. They're right. Their party has always hated the American experiment in free speech and free association.
Trump had many major accomplishments during his presidency. But the one accomplishment he has achieved will change the course of American history. He has outed the totalitarian left for who they are. Or rather the totalitarian left outed themselves by trying to destroy trump. But the American people have started to awaken to the woke control by the elitist socialist and slowly turning to trump to save our culture and our democracy. The radical socialist democrats have become the party who cried wolf too many times. No one believes them anymore after four indictments, 2 civil trials, 2 impeachments, and one failed scam of Russia Russia Russia hoax. The 2024 election of Trump for president will be the biggest earthquake in the democrat party since republicans freed the slaves from their democrat masters after winning the civil war. Trump will become what Obama only wished he was.......A CONSEQUENTIAL PRESIDENT. Right next to abraham Lincoln and George Washington.
So who will be lighting the cities on fire this summer? Doubt it will be trump folks. I’m placing bets on the race hustlers and antifa getting the Obama prompt through Zuckerberg to “organize”
Will be a red hot summer indeed, just like 1968.
Just thinking out loud.
“the reason America works is because we voluntarily participate.“
America no longer works. America is disintegrating in real time before our very eyes. This is just not working at all.
Well, for sure the 1% don't work. They just make money off money. The wealthy no long help build up the country. But passive resistance could be something like refusing to participate in the consumer capitalist society. Stop buying s**t.
“Well, for sure the 1% don't work.”

I don’t know if we can even get it together to have a civil war. Not that I want to see another one happen here.

Outside of the so-called chambers of influence, the true God reigns, sharing a message of love, grace, salvation and true eternal rest. While we might have strife in our country now between God and the many monsters, I’m putting my faith in God, the only source for 100% contentment in life - and death.
Damn, girl, you've left me speechless. Your delivery (of the many truth bombs) is flawless.
I thought it was just a quick misuse of term. My mistake.
No worries, I just get so tired of putting everything in “scare quotes”...but I guess that’s the times we live in...
Huh. Usually it’s the addict or personality disordered person in the family doing the scapegoating. To deflect from their own behavior.
The cycle can be broken!
Thank you for sharing your personal story. I too chose to distance some family members after I became an independent adult. It is a very tough decision to divorce blood family, but people I know who have had to do it felt better about themselves, their relationships and their lives thereafter.
...while the REAL "Evil One" laughs at our foolishness and continues to rampage, unchecked...
Stand up!
So glad you said that 👏👏👏 Speak up, stand up. He may find he’s not in a bubble after all.
They believe that they can control people. Stalin showed us that it is possible, but the price is high.
❤️
Let's all make woke jokes; "A woke guys walks into a bar...."
You put it all together, like a story, maybe a song? You are the best weaver of words and media I’ve seen! You are an artist!
Way too much common sense! How dare you speak the truth! 😉🇺🇸🙌
