I would take issue with your comment that Trump supporters aren't well-educated. While he DOES appeal to (because, unlike far too many Democrats, he is willing to talk to) working-class voters without a college degree, he's also got supporters in the professional ranks. And beyond that, I'd argue that having a university degree vs. being educated have less correlation than ever - I think it was the late newspaper columnist Lewis Grizzard who observed, "I know lots of people who are educated far beyond their intelligence." ... ;-) And a huge swath of the votes for Trump came from folks like me, who didn't / don't particularly care for Trump, but voted for him as the lesser of two evils. Twice. So there are Trump supporters, and Trump voters.
Yeah I'd agree with that. I should clarify that part. I don't think all of them are but I think those who aren't don't have the means or the power to push back against the system.
Most moderates, centrists and conservatives don't have the personality to make a big stink about stuff. Second, they tend to have jobs - the kind of jobs where you can't call out "woke" twice a week to go to protests, and still have that job. Peggy Noonan, one of the two liberal columnists for the Wall Street Journal, wrote last week that she is hearing even from establishment types that there is a growing wave of resentment and anger toward the Democrats right now. Tens of millions of people are waiting for a new leader to articulate their grievances - whether that's DeSantis or someone else, if a new Reagan comes along, she thinks the impact could be profound - and will utterly surprise those on the Left, who think Twitter is reality.
Absolutely and without a doubt. Trump is the only person who can stand there and take it so he's been handed the fight. But if he stepped out of the way and DeSantis was the guy I think you could see a landslide win. But some people have told me that the demographics don't back that up.
There was an interview with one of Clinton's pollsters, and he said the demographics are swinging badly against the Democrats. More than 1/3 of Latinos voted Republican last year, and the cultural hysteria is turning them off even more. Of the record number of blacks who voted Republican last year, the biggest number were under 40 - another bad sign for Democrats.
And let's see who DeSantis picks as Veep - if it's Nikki Haley, that blunts a lot of the Democratic victimhood crap.
Then there's this: Who are the Democrats going to run??? There are already reports leaking out that top Dems are recruiting candidates to run in the primary against Harris in 2024.
The Dems and their media propogandists have falsely cried "Wolf" so many times in the last few months - on Covid, on the Jan. 6 demonstration, on supposed "voter suppression" - that the independents who supported Biden seem unlikely to do so again.
Ms. Stone: Two thoughts, in-artfully drafted: First, I was trained to understand a leader to be one who stands up, hollers "follow me", and starts forward through withering fire, in full view of the enemy, death be damned. While us troops might prefer to hunker down in cover, to stay put is to lose all. Our hearts respond to the example, and we draw ourselves up to spit in the foe's eye. Trump has done that for a great many among us. Now Carlson, Cooper, Stone, DeSantis and others are now up and running resolutely forward towards the breach forced by The Don, figuratively and literally below the Stars and Stripes. Second, our G.I.s in North Africa began to decimate the German forces when, during within-earshot mountain fighting, the Germans cheerfully slagged American mothers. I submit that's where we are right now vis the Left, and we just got a new supply of grenades and water. Cheers, as ever.

I amended it.
Well, at least you and I will still understand this whole thread! lol ...
