I'm noticing that team R is picking up good quality and smart democrats (Shanahan, Musk, et al) and team D is getting corrupt and odious republicans (Cheney, Romney, et al). I've got a good feeling about this.

That’s an excellent observation!

Two rich oligarchs who I never trusted as Democrats and enriched themselves off Democrat policies and abandoned liberalism when it suited them.

I'll tell 'em if you won't. Get over it! Like they say in AA, take what you can use and leave the rest. Quit griping to Sasha about it. As for me, thanks for the Tucker drops.

The movement against the blob that is currently running our country is the first real attempt at unifying this country that I have seen in recent memory. Trump, RFK Jr., Elon Musk, Tulsi Gabbard etc. may differ on a lot of things, but they do agree on the most important principles on which our country was founded. They believe in free speech, they believe the people should have a say on how they are governed, and they are against supporting endless wars. The contrast with Team Kamala could hardly be more stark.

I also think Nicole Shanahan can be a very powerful voice to those who don't like the way things are going but are still hesitant in supporting Trump. She is smart, articulate and has a very emotional and moving story to tell.

She might be hesitant about Trump, the man but not about MAGA, the movement. We who support both need to get our heads around that. Trump has got 4 years at best which isn't enough to fix everything.

Yeah, I don’t know much about Shanahan but every time I see a video clip of her I come away impressed.

I remember when RFK Jr. picked her as his running mate there was a lot of criticism of Shanahan for being too far left. I didn't really know anything about her at that point but it's clear that she has had her eyes opened by her experience. It is these types of people (like Sasha) who I think can be persuasive to those who are willing to listen. I know that a lot of people have closed their minds and are unreachable but I give credit to Trump for reaching out to people like Shanahan who can potentially broaden his coalition.

This election really does seem to have come down to those people who are willing and able to think for themselves and those who would rather be told to do what is good for them.

Anytime someone tells you that you're the crazy extremist, you should rewatch this.

To watch the anti-vaccine section where Nicole speaks about her own daughter go to Tucker's X post for the 2 minute clip:

The thing that irks me about war- aside from the worst part of risking human lives- is we send the most patriot Americans. These are the men and women who are willing to die for our freedoms, are mostly likely conservative, and yet we risk losing them.

I agree a must watch. I’m a Texan for every American.

Sasha,

What a beautiful day. I had NFL football on the tv on mute and watched all of Tucker’s interviews. They were all superb but this last one with Nicole Shanahan and Jesse Kelly was special, I knew nothing about Nicole except her Trump Derangement Syndrome Ad and, whoa, Jessee Kelly is a firebrand.

Thank you again so much for sharing your email substack. Such a joy.

Robin

Did utube censor part of Nicole’s interview?

Bastrop, where Elon Musk has located one (?) of his businesses, is not (contrary to what I just saw in a news story), a "tiny Texas town": the county has about 100,000 resisdents.

Since I was about to fall out of my chair last night, having driven 14 hours after hiking the highest mountain in New Mexico (13,000) the day before, I did not get around to finishing about how Tucker Carlson does not know his ass from a hole in the wall when it comes to Texas. It would be nice if Americans actually had some bloody idea about what the second largest state in America actually is.

Stray note: I estimate that I have seen about 500 alligators near Rosenberg in Fort Bend County. Or rather I have seen the same alligators about 500 times. There is lovely live-oak forest there. Once upon a time, I saw the largest wild alligator I have ever seen come shooting up out of the water with half-grown alligator head-down in its mouth. It paused when it saw us, then started slamming the unfortunate youngster against the water ...

Here are three and a half people who positively scream where they are from:

1) The guys from ZZ top: Houston

2) Will Cain: Dallas

3) Me: Austin.

Nobody who knows Texas could fail to recognize at a glance where these guys are from.

I used to like Tucker but now I find him annoying.
