This is the most realistic article Sasha has written. I have been reading left and progressive left substacks to get a truthful sense of what people think. Thousands of commenters support Kamala - hundred or thousands times more than those of us who write here. Many people openly express regret that the assassination attempt failed. The only reason I didn't list his book first is that at 1,500 pages in length, it's rather daunting. Posner's book is half that length.
"Oswald's Game," by Jean Davison. I know nothing more about Jean Davison than that she had been an English instructor at a Southern college who retired when she married in the early 1960s. Her book is out of print, but used copies are readily available. Jean Davison worked her way through the twenty - six volumes Warren Commission report repeatedly before she began her psychological biography of Lee Harvey Oswald. It's a marvel. Congress should have awarded her a medal.
It's fascinating that the one wrinkle neither she nor Bugliosi could iron out is Sylvia Odio's story. They both thought it was true and not insignificant, but not greatly significant.

Kennedy had one question for McCone: "Did your people have anything to do with this?" McCone said no. Later, RFK told people "I asked him the question in such a way that I knew that he, a devout Catholic, could not lie to me."
Let's suppose McCone did lie successfully to RFK. When Johnson shut down funding for Mongoose, why didn't the C.I.A. knock him off?

It's not merely that our era sloughs off the kind of "platform" evangelism which was common fifty or sixty years ago, it's that even good, orthodox churches, at least in my experience, not only do not preach the Gospel but do nothing to encourage those who might have a gift of evangelism which a pastor lacks.

The big red flag for me is the total blackout of J6 prisoners and the very important lawsuits surrounding the issues of their sentencing and extended prison stays and treatment. I have been with TFP since its earliest days as Common Sense, when it was no more than a weekly email newsletter. It is very definitely not pro-Trump, but I don't get the sense it's a Democrat propaganda sheet. It is very anti-trans ideology and very pro-Israel, and just those two things alone are enough to keep me at least for now. The "news" division is a joke. Ben Shapiro says it's left of NYT; I don't know where he got that from but I believe it. All you have to do is glance through their front page to see they are desperate to elect Kamala, like they were desperate to re-elect Biden before he dropped out. When I think how respected and respectable that paper used to be just ten years ago, it makes me sick. They are also blatantly pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel. Why the ownership of WSJ decided that America needed another Washington Post is a mystery. Maybe they're chasing a younger reader demographic, who knows. If that's the case, they have a very low opinion of young people and what they want to read.
Less than ten years ago it was a serious business-oriented newspaper. Now a recent headline on their homepage read, "Is Everyone Having More Sex Than You This Summer?" It's turned into Cosmopolitan Magazine.

I started and then deleted a query about why, with "our" willingness to muck with other people's governments (Ukraine, anyone?) there has been no sign of an effort in Venezuela. Then it occurred to me that maybe there was -- and it worked.

Thousands of commenters support Kamala - hundred or thousands times more than those of us who write here. Many people openly express regret that the assassination attempt failed. What I am trying to say is that Obama may have played a role and has influenced what is happening in the country, but we have moved far beyond that. I was never a fan of obama's. The adulation wish my many literate friends dumped on him was just weird since they knew nothing of him except that he was black articulate clean and very ambitious. In an interview with Tucker Carlson this week, Senator Mike Lee positive and I see no reason to doubt him that Obama and his henchman and women wanted that a debate with Biden because they knew exactly what was going to happen and this was a good way to get rid of him. "Reclaiming History," by Vincent Bugliosi. Bugliosi was the man who prosecuted the Manson family. Alan Dershowitz thought Bugliosi was the best prosecutor in the United States. The only reason I didn't list his book first is that at 1,500 pages in length, it's rather daunting. Posner's book is half that length.
"Oswald's Game," by Jean Davison. I know nothing more about Jean Davison than that she had been an English instructor at a Southern college who retired when she married in the early 1960s. Her book is out of print, but used copies are readily available. Jean Davison worked her way through the twenty - six volumes Warren Commission report repeatedly before she began her psychological biography of Lee Harvey Oswald. It's a marvel. Congress should have awarded her a medal.
It's fascinating that the one wrinkle neither she nor Bugliosi could iron out is Sylvia Odio's story. They both thought it was true and not insignificant, but not greatly significant.
My fourth recommendation is Thomas Mallon's "Mrs Paine's Garage." Mallon works both forensic and psychological territory in his excellent book.

At around midnight on November 22, Robert Kennedy asked then C.I.A. director, John McCone, to come out to his place in Hickory Hill, VA. Kennedy had one question for McCone: "Did your people have anything to do with this?" McCone said no. Later, RFK told people "I asked him the question in such a way that I knew that he, a devout Catholic, could not lie to me."
Let's suppose McCone did lie successfully to RFK. When Johnson shut down funding for Mongoose, why didn't the C.I.A. knock him off?

Doesn't it occur to you that we have a scarcity of evangelists in our time? It's not merely that our era sloughs off the kind of "platform" evangelism which was common fifty or sixty years ago, it's that even good, orthodox churches, at least in my experience, not only do not preach the Gospel but do nothing to encourage those who might have a gift of evangelism which a pastor lacks.
So, not only do we not reach the unsaved who are outside the church community, we don't reach those who are within it. That I don't understand, and am distraught about.

I went to my county election office yesterday and picked up a YUGE handful of mail-in ballot request forms as well as voter registration forms, and I'm attending the county fair this weekend so I can register like-minded voters - wearing my MAGA hat. After that, I'm hitting up all my hunting friends, biker friends, bar buddies, and more. Registering more voters, even though I'm in a red county in PA is critical if we want to stop this year's steal. Everyone can do it - just do it! You'll feel better for it. DO IT! The big red flag for me is the total blackout of J6 prisoners and the very important lawsuits surrounding the issues of their sentencing and extended prison stays and treatment. As time went on, I noticed a pattern to the articles and concluded that the site is intended to uphold the Democratic Party and capture people who don't like woke or the NYT. Sure, the ladies left the NYT and aren't fans of woke, but they will stick to the D party no matter what, which is perfectly their right to. I'm not interested in that, and I won't pay for it. I don't watch any cable news or news channels either - I can't stomach it anymore.
I have been with TFP since its earliest days as Common Sense, when it was no more than a weekly email newsletter. It is very definitely not pro-Trump, but I don't get the sense it's a Democrat propaganda sheet. It is very anti-trans ideology and very pro-Israel, and just those two things alone are enough to keep me at least for now. It is more critical of the Democrat party than you will find anywhere outside the likes of National Review and the alt-right sites. I would call it heterodox, like Bari herself. It has helped save my sanity.
I also pick and choose what I read on it; I gave up the TGIF column because it annoyed me. Fortunately, they have so much content now and so many regular and guest authors that there is plenty else to read. And I pay five bucks a month for it.
I call WSJ the Woke Street Journal. I only keep my subscription for now because I got a ridiculously low promotional rate and I read it for the Op-Ed, Arts and Real Estate sections. The "news" division is a joke. Ben Shapiro says it's left of NYT; I don't know where he got that from but I believe it. All you have to do is glance through their front page to see they are desperate to elect Kamala, like they were desperate to re-elect Biden before he dropped out. When I think how respected and respectable that paper used to be just ten years ago, it makes me sick. They are also blatantly pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel. Why the ownership of WSJ decided that America needed another Washington Post is a mystery. Maybe they're chasing a younger reader demographic, who knows. If that's the case, they have a very low opinion of young people and what they want to read.

The reality is 30% of the voters think Trump is Orange Hitler and 30% think Kamala is the Antichrist, it’s the 40% in the middle who are looking for hope and direction. It comes down to the question, are you better off today than you were 4 years ago, and if the answer is no then here is the plan to change that. That’s the message Trump and Vance need to hammer home relentlessly, because at ground level there is a growing sense of unease on the state of play. It’s about leadership and a positive message of hope that will swing the middle, and that’s what’s missing at this moment.
It’s time to quit reacting and take the offensive on creating the narrative, everything is there for the taking, illegal immigration’s impact, economic stagnation, the geopolitical situation. A laser like focus on the key issues/solutions that are driving the middle’s unease is what will swing votes past the 5 point margin of fraud the machine counts on.
You Sasha are one of those creative voices that can be a force multiplier in this effort, it ain’t over till it’s over so don’t despair. The medium is the message as Marshal McLuhan noted, you have access to both, and the gift to use them effectively.
