We are living in a place that is all the more frightening because more people aren’t frightened. Like him or not , if people can’t see that he has exposed the leviathan that wants to control us all, then we are truly in a terribly dark place

Most of the people I know buy into the narrative that Trump is an evil demon, sociopathic wannabe dictator. Along with that, they do not yet see "the leviathan that wants to control us." They literally do not know it exists. I have mentioned to them Trump's speech at Mr. Rushmore, but they wouldn't understand what he was talking about even if they were willing to listen. We are truly witnessing what happens when an authoritarian government takes control of the media and restricts information. Once people's reality becomes remotely programmed, most seem to surrender readily to it, as if they prefer it that way.

Because it's much easier -- and more effective -- to trigger a purely emotional response in order to manipulate the proles than it is to attempt logic and reason. Especially when your policies and positions are absurdly irrational and destructive.

Oddly enough, there seems to be a direct correlation between being highly susceptible to emotional manipulation and level of education.

Authoritarian regimes aren't interested in remotely programming people's reality. Ever hear of any dictator telling people that there are no differences between the sexes, much less that males can become females just by clicking their ruby slippers together? No, because all dictators up until 1917 accepted Human Nature as a limit on their power to control populations. Or, let's just say that they accepted reality. Leftists can't accept reality, because in reality they're just a bunch of geeks, criminals, psychos, perverts and other societal rejects. They have to destroy all existing societies and build a strange new one where they can fit in. But reality sez that normal humans cannot live in such artificial arrangements. So Leftists, who create totalitarian regimes to mold the "new man" who can live in their utopia, find that the only way forward is to kill every body who won't fit in. Thus totalitarians' unrivalled record of mass murder.

Jacobite, I am puzzled by your assertion that authoritarian regimes are not interested in programming peoples' reality. Another word for totalitarian programming is "thought reform." Robert J. Lifton discussed in depth the strategies that were used by the Chinese to "reform thoughts" of their own people as well as of POW's captured by them. James Lindsay, on his New Discourses site, is currently engaged in an excellent application of Lifton's ideas to the structure and processes observed in the woke cult. The woke cult operates exactly like other authoritarian cults, except that it is a more or less "leaderless" movement, at least so far.

Lifton observed that the most powerful tools for programming peoples' beliefs involve restricting the information people receive. People are placed in environments where they are exposed exclusively to cult dogma, and are completely isolated from people who might question the dogma or support the perceptions of the people being indoctrinated. Refusing to provide consensual validation of a person's accurate perceptions of reality is a central manipulation typical of totalitarian systems of all kinds, especially cults. People being "reformed" by the Chinese were isolated, usually as individuals, and subjected to non-stop, forced exposure to communist dogma. More recent cults (1980's) isolated people they wanted to induct by enticing them to enroll in conferences and retreats held in isolated places with no way to leave (cell phones did not exist then). The prospective new recruits were then required to attend a succession of individual and group indoctrination sessions that lasted throughout the day and into the night.

You ask the rhetorical question, "Ever hear of any dictator telling people that there are no differences between the sexes...?" No, not specifically, but I can list any number of equally bizarre, perverted and immoral teachings that a plethora of totalitarian cults have preached. For example, many cult leaders have sexually exploited members of their groups, including children, and have even taught that it is good for parents to have sexual interaction with young children as well as teens. The belief systems of major cults in this country have included teachings about how their advanced members can travel to the core of our planet through tubes, channel the Spirit of God and speak for Him, and any number of much stranger ideas.

The practice of inducing subordinated people to surrender their correct views of reality and replace them with the dominant person's false narrative is also a favorite strategy of narcissists. Narcissists, like cult leaders, recognize that to be effective they must isolate the subordinated person from support by other people who question the narcissists versions of "truth" as well as the narcissists character and motives.

Totalitarian regimes that are good at programming their member citizens can eventually induce them to isolate themselves voluntarily from information and people that will disconfirm the leaders' scripted pronouncements about what is and isn't real. Cults that are pseudo-Christian generally instill into members the fear that people outside the group are "of the Devil," and will mislead the cult members to question the cult's dogma, with disastrous consequences for the life, soul, and post-death prospects for the one who stray from the fold.

It is very important and very helpful for anti-woke activists to understand how the woke cult functions exactly like other totalitarian cults with respect to programming members' understandings of what is real or not. Chinese thought reform is the same kind of system, which used the same strategies as those used by totalitarian cults to induce people to question their own valid perceptions and replace them with Maoist dogma. The woke cult has been strongly influenced by Maoist varieties of Marxism, so it is not surprising that DEI "struggle sessions" are so similar to the Chinese version.

I just posted Vivek's tweet on my website before seeing your column.

Seriously, every R candidate, and RFK jr should be in Miami to loudly proclaim this injustice. Our Federal Government is taking over. The DOJ is now firmly aligned with the DNC, as well as the FBI and CIA.

Only a massive red wave, that results in super majorities (highly unlikely) that can reign in the feds will fix our dilemma, but I doubt that we'll see it. I think we've lost the country our founders envisioned.

I'm assuming that you got home safely, and am personally crushed that you didn't stop at my restaurant for a free lunch as you tooled through Iowa.

I haven’t given up, hope, but I must say that I mostly agree. I don’t see any way that we can get out of this mess unless Trump returns to the White House even if he does, supermajority’s are very unlikely, as you said. Plus, we would have to hold the government for 20 or 30 years to truly turn everything around all of this didn’t happen in the last three or four years. This has taken decades. The left moves two steps forward, then they get kicked back one step, but that is still one step forward.

I have been skeptical of any hopeful declarations that our side is gaining, the woke cult is losing ground. In my state they have total control, and the state legislature plus governor have been rapidly passing very extreme woke legislation. I am trying to resign myself to the fact that the cult has successfully completed the initial stages of its coup, and is behaving more like it is unopposed. It truly has not had to face much push back, and none from its friends and captives.

It matters a great deal that they have gotten this far, but it is possible to fight them still. We need to start to accept that we are the resistance that they always claimed to be, and that they have won in many ways. I think we are in one of those situations in life when people are struggling to save something very dear to them, not wanting to face that it has already been lost.

I know from talking to so many of them on a weekly basis that they have felt the same way about Trump. They have been getting increasingly panicky and rageful as Trump's poll ratings have soared. They truly believe he is a monster on the level of Hitler and they believe that Jan 6 was a serious "Insurrection." My friends and acquaintances say repeatedly that "our country will descend into totalitarianism within the next few years," and they believe that Trump has full intention to make that happen if he is elected.

If it makes you feel any better, I am no Trump fan and voted for Biden. I didn’t really think Biden would be a good president but I , mistakenly, believed he would be the lesser of the two evils. Once Biden rolled into office and I saw what he and his people had in store for us I became horrified very quickly. Today, I am absolutely furious about what has happened with these latest events. I live in a super woke part of the country and have many friends who voted for Biden but now absolutely understand what a horrible idea that was. In the 2022 midterms I voted a straight republican ballot. In the next presidential election I will do the same. I have many friends who have the same plan. Between now and then I’m going to be praying every day that Biden and all the authoritarian crooks he surrounds himself will be driven out of office. If not, I will forever remain a member of the resistance. I’m so disgusted right now I can hardly see straight.

Meanwhile the Left totally capitalized on the fear of such a ban and convinced their voters to once again vote against their own self interest.

If we were a banana republic we’d at least still be a country. I really don’t believe there’s anything left of America internally which is why it’s so rapidly unraveling externally. It took 3 years, 1988 to 1991, for the Soviet Union to collapse. Time is moving much faster now though. We could probably do it in 3 months and the tsunami of shock waves will sweep through our entire online global civilization and perhaps bring it all down. Something like on 911 when the twin towers collapsed ever faster as the upper floors collapsed on those beneath them faster and faster. That’s certainly one big downside to globalization.

Because nobody had ever seen a totalitarian state before., and social scientists were fascinated.

Some basic conclusions were summed up by aphorisms like:

"Rightists are greedy; Leftists operate on envy" (a Right-wing dictator might want a fleet of Mercedes; a Leftist won't be satisfied until he has taken YOUR car).

"Rightists abolish politics; Leftists politicize everything" (Rightists remove political questions from public discussion and decision; Leftists insist on making the most trivial, personal behavior subject to government scrutiny and decision). The 'New Left' slogan -- "the personal is political" sums up their thinking -- there are no limits to government control. Hitler didn't care which bathroom you used unless you were creating a disturbance. Yet the Left is putting people in front of a judge because they object to men sharing the shower room with their daughters. Heck. they might lose their jobs if they even address a delusional man with male pronouns. That is totalitarianism to a 'T'.

I think C S Lewis (or maybe Belloc) defined Leftism as a never-ending war against everything normal. Their old cover story used to be that they were 'progressives' trying to create a new and improved society - but of course, before they could build a new one (sigh), the old/normal one would have to be destroyed.

The difference between the two is simply the difference between Right and Left. Leftists create totalitarian regimes to create a new version of humanity accepting of Leftists' existential fury at being alienated from normal human society due to their own oddities. Leftists' war is with Human Nature. Normal humans accept their Human Nature as normal and unremarkable. In fact, it is innate, inherited, and immutable -- which means every Leftist/totalitarian regime must fail. Normal people don't accept known congenital criminals, sexual perverts, idiots, lunatics, militant atheists, and just-plain aliens into normal society. Never have; never will. Throughout human history, dictators have understood that they had to run their domains within the bounds of Human Nature, which is why authoritarian dictators tried to control people's actions, but only to the extent they thought necessary to maintain power. They had no desire to alter the basic characteristics of Homo sapiens. Leftists, not being able to conform to normal behavior in order to be accepted by normal society, have to destroy existing society (to which they can never belong), and create a society where the population does not operate according to Human Nature. They try to alter basic human behaviors by force (soft and hard). The reason their regimes end in mass murder and failure is because Human Nature is immutable, but they are incapable of facing this fact, so they simply increase the force and terror to make changes. The fact that they soon find themselves killing most of the people they rule is no problem, since ultimately, the only way to create a society of weirdos is to kill all the normal people.

Fighting back will require sacrifice few are willing to make.

The second most read book on history, Atlas Shrugged, was initially titled "The Strike". That is what is needed, as a start. Huge numbers of people must stop watching TV, stop going to movies, stop using Facebook, instagram, etc, stop buying Dem aligned products, pull their money out of stocks and the banks, and more.

I would not be surprised to see large protests in DC that end up in government suppression as in the protests at the 68 Dem convention in Chicago. I would not be surprised to see thousands of people surround Trump and dare the feds to go through them to arrest Trump.

I would also not be surprised to see a military coup occur. It has reached that level.

You must remember that the deaths of large numbers of people do not bother democrats at all. Just sayin'.

Our fight is within, because without the US, the WEF is meaningless.

How can you say the WEF, in internatioal organization formed by a German in 1971, is meaningless?? It now wields corporate power, money and influence. It has used that power through corporate-owned media to divide us. It now seeks to bring down our economy and to disarm us and to throw this nation into battling disarray.

Any such happenings within the United States is a victory for them.

They may be indicting Trump so Joe can pardon him and Hunter Biden at the same time. That might be the plan to sweep Joe's corruption under the rug.

I think you got to find a way. And anything can happen perhaps things we aren't even envisioning. Perhaps all the illegal migrants will vote Republican. How can we make that happen? Or independent or something, maybe we end up having new political parties like they do over the UK.

But if the people knew the truth and they knew how corrupt these people were, we'd have all the people against them really and then we'd win. We have to keep fighting no doubt. We have to stay positive though and fight and we need some strategies straight away. #warroom

No borders means no country. We will never recover from the damage done. The “court dates” for “migrants” are meaningless since most don’t show up and even if they do and are denied asylum we have no way to enforce the order to leave so it’s just ignored. Democrats opened the border for political gain and created a monster which is already out of control and will only get worse. Democrats have destroyed America. Democrats are evil.

I believe their goal is to destroy the middle class and then start a UBI for the illegals and remnants of the ruined middle class which would make them dependent on and therefore under the control of the Democratic Party aka Satan’s Lapdogs.

But why has our society collapsed into insanity? What caused this awful situation? Some excerpts below from a Quillette review of a book about the irrational side of human nature. The last one says: “One comes away with the sense that civilization operates on narrow margins and is always on the verge of collapsing into irrationality.” That sure is the truth.

“Mackay makes the case, often in gory detail, that episodes of collective mania seem to be an inevitable consequence of human nature. Humans in every time and place have cast aside their better judgment and allowed themselves to be caught up in all manner of irrational hoopla.“

“His chapters on the Swabian Peasants’ War and Anabaptist uprisings are terrifying depictions of the end-times frenzy that wreaked havoc on northern Europe throughout the 16th and 17th centuries. The distance between these events in the German-speaking world and, say, the Reign of Terror in France or the Chinese Cultural Revolution is not that great. And the speed with which apparently reasonable people moved from the embrace of a new theological idea to a willingness to torture those whose own theological ideas diverged even slightly is startling.“

“There is plenty to recommend about The Delusions of Crowds. It is laden with great anecdotes and the writing is always engaging. One comes away with the sense that civilization operates on narrow margins and is always on the verge of collapsing into irrationality.”

I saw a video of Vivek Ramaswamy recently at a Townhall meeting where he was asked what he would do on his first day as president. He said he would issue an Executive Order banning race based affirmative action. That’s exactly the opposite of what Biden did on his first day in office which was to issue an Executive Order to replace meritocracy wherever it can be found with Equity aka Equal Outcomes.

We’re in a reality war of the Woke vs the nonWoke. Compare a nonWoke public intellectual like Vivek Ramaswamy to a Woke public intellectual like Ibram X. Kendi and the difference is like the difference between day and night or sanity vs insanity yet our ruling class, their media and their many useful idiot followers in the general public prefer Kendi! Watch what Saagar has to say about our ruling class war on merit for the sake of Equity.

So what should we do? We should make use of our greatest advantage against the Woke which is the superbly high quality of people on our side like Elon, Vivek, Tucker, Tulsi, Sasha, Matt Taibbi, Dave Rubin, Megyn Kelly, Harmeet Dhillon and so many other people like them. Follow people like this and share information from them with others. Plus follow the exponential advance of AI. This is the wild card now and from now on. This is truly a game changer for humanity. Did you even read my comment? I said "without the US the WEF is meaningless"..

Expand full comment

And that comment is hopelessly dead wrong.

Expand full comment

If you believe the WEF has any real power if they lose the support of the US, you are not thinking clearly.

First off, how do you fight the WEF? The have no formal authority and are not elected. Second, their only influence comes from what governments give them. Right now, that comes mostly from the US. And if you take that way, they are severely weakened.

Expand full comment

I have already answered this in response to your remark about fiction preceding real events. The WEF is international, founded in 1971 by a German. Merkel was a member before she became Germany’s chancellor. They have garnered the support of multinational corporate entities and wield power through them. There is far more money and influence there than the US and China put together. It is the rise of the Fourth Reich. Corporate media has been used to deliberately divide us and they seek to bring down our capitalistic economy and what remains of our democratic republic, and they are managing it very effectively. Their members have largely been duped.

You fight it the same way you fight any aggressor. You destroy it, from the top down. Fighting among ourselves accomplishes its goals. It was with our help that Germany was last defeated, and the US is just a plum to them.

They ARE who you fight. They do not expect to bleed. They MUST.

At what point does “sedition” become heroic, I wonder.

I hope people will start to see that it really isn’t within; it’s the WEF. They are standing away from all of this expecting to get through it totally unscathed.

That must not be allowed. Take it down and the source of all of this trouble is gone.

The healing might then begin.

And how do you take down the WEF? And if you do, do you honestly think the governments who supported them will stand down? Think critically and logically.

Expand full comment

Yes. I do think they will stand down.

Expand full comment

And that is the basis of our disagreement.

Expand full comment

According to you. You believe the WEF has no power, because it is unelected. Therefore no despotic dictator ever had power. Other countries may decide to continue a WEF in some form or other, but after a direct attack the message will be clear. Mitts off the US.

Isn’t it interesting that China is immune? Russia?

At this point I generally dismiss as uninformed. Suggest you think a little harder. The only other choice I see is a very stupid civil war, total societal collapse and life under tyranny, tracking, punishment, making Orwellian society look far better.

Expand full comment

Boy do you have a real problem with logic and understanding, or rather likely intentional misinterpretation.

What I specifically said is that the WEF has no power other than through governments. Big difference dude.

Tell me, can the WEF pass laws? Can the WEF dwclare war? Can the WEF arrest people. The WEF can not do anything if governments dont follow their suggestions.

Cut the line between the US government and the WEF and they are impotent.

But you are stupid, so wont understand this.

Expand full comment

Well, first, if there was any way to “cut the line,” that would be the way to go. If you were not the idiot you accuse me of being I’d be very interested in how that might be done. But you’re stupid and you don’t have a way.

You said unelected. You said nothing about “through other governments.”

ESG might be considered law, since corporations get debanked unless they are on board. So they made the Netherlands seize and shut down 3,000 farms. No laws.

“I'd love to know what you think about this latest fiasco.”

I agree with Vivek and think this is just more of the same crap the democrats have been doing since 2016. Shortly after Trump was elected and the democrat’s “Resistance!” began I told a Mexican friend at work in Chicago, a Trump supporter who’s from Guerrero, one of Mexico’s poorest and most dangerous states, that the inability to transition to a new government after an election is a classic sign of a failed state. He actually shuddered as if a cold chill had just run down his spine. I never forgot his reaction to what I said.

I voted for Trump twice although I’d now much prefer Vivek Ramaswamy whose campaign is based on fighting Woke ideology. The question is though, is America even still governable or even still a country? I have no doubt the democrats would love to do to me what they did to the QAnon Shaman (prison) or to Ashli Babbitt (murder) at the Jan 6 Capitol rally in 2021. No society so devoid of trust and so full of hate can survive as a nation. Could it be that the reason why America is so rapidly unraveling externally is because it no longer exists as a country internally?

Many people believe that America is simply too big and too powerful to collapse but many people also believed that about the Soviet Union. No one in 1985 would have believed that the USSR, the mighty "Evil Empire,” would be a disintegrating mess in 5 years. I told that to someone last year who said "But the Soviet Union was a collection of separate countries.” What we have here though is a collection of separate realities which is a much deadlier situation. No doubt the disastrous failure of the American experiment has already drastically altered the course of world history.
