He got a 100k advance from Doubleday and went straight to Sullivan Ford in Bangor and bought a 1974 Ford Pinto runabout midnight blue and he never came back to Hampden Academy again. His wife cleaned our his desk and she finished out her year at Hampden Academy and then she quit teaching there too.
