Wow. I've been a reader for some time now, and It's very revealing that some people who a week ago knew that all governments lie and lie continuously, this week are falling for the same propaganda they exposed before, just because different buttons were pushed. Context and history-free take.
“We know they are lying, they know they are lying, they know we know they are lying, we know they know we know they are lying, but they are still lying.” – Attributed to Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn
Let’s be blunt about this, it’s one side of the political spectrum that exploits lies, projection and gaslighting as a matter of policy.
That’s the side that dominates the media, and enables them to get away with the lies.
What MLB said. It’s the Uniparty and their media puppets that constantly lie. Before the current Democratic power structure, it was the Republicans and their lies about Iraq and WMD’s.
D, yes the Left now dominates the media. That is obvious. But something the others are arguing is also true and obvious; Bush/Cheney lied about WMD and their neocon warmongering cost us thousands of lives and hundreds of. Billions. I am against the Left, the RINOS, and the warmongers of both parties. And so are others you are arguing with.
And now you’re trying to deflect onto something else….
Let’s face it, you folks on the fascist far-left have to avoid the ‘Russia collusion’ story as much as Hunter Biden has to avoid tainted cocaine and disease-ridden hookers.
Can you even answer a direct question?
Which side dominates the media landscape?
That’s the side that can lie with impunity.
It’s only ONE SIDE that can do that, NOT BOTH.
Because it’s proving to everyone else which side is dominant.
It’s proving that we now have a national socialist media cabal that works hand in hand with the far left.
I’m not deflecting anything, nor trying to argue with you. You’re making assumptions about me. I’m not far left. I’m merely pointing out that the lies were coming from the right wing, i.e. Bush/Cheney and the neocons, about WMD’s in the lead up to the Iraq War. All to push their pre planned agenda. And yes its the same playbook the media is using now, only like you said it’s coming from the left.
My point is that it’s not a left-right issue, it’s a Deep State/Uniparty issue.
MLB Fan, for once I sort of agree with you. "Both sides may indeed do it"--but there is a third side that doesn't, i.e., the MAGA side. That is why "both sides" are so desperate to destroy it.
People immersed in the left's carefully constructed fantasy world truly believe the truth is a lie when they see it. Truth and fact don't comport with the left's worldview which is little more than than a worn out rerun of socialist reality TV.
January 6 had the obvious advantage to the Democrats in that it rushed confirmation of the electoral tally, ignoring objections that would have led to investigations. That’s why I believe it was orchestrated.
Today, while thousands of Middle Eastern and Chinese border crossers are being “lost” into the United States, THIS is what the FBI is doing.
The International LEFT which is now imbedded in the former Democrat party has over 100 years of experience in destroying societies and over throwing elected and unelected governments.
We are at war with a group of fanatics who have been hell bent on destroying America and it’s people.
If the people of America don’t wake up soon we as a free country and people will no longer exist.
We have been gaslit into tribalism and will be coerced into civil war. Likely next summer when trump pulls far ahead in the polls. BLM,etc will light up the streets and we will be ass deep fighting 2 wars in Ukraine and the Mideast ... be warned, be ready.
No, the 20-30-media producers dum it up to appeal to that same age group like a video game. If it sells, they just keep going with it like a movie script.
Good article, lots to digest. As I recently reflected on how the Democratic Party has changed so much in recent years I remembered something that garnered a lot of chatter several years ago when it happened (I believe during the Obama administration):
The Democratic Party removed God from its platform. 🧐
SECURITY EXPERTS BLAME ISRAEL GOVERNMENT FOR ATTACK : THEY HAD SOURCES INSIDE
Posted by Yudi Sherman October 11, 2023
¨Security experts are blaming Israel’s government for Saturday’s invasion in which Muslim forces from Gaza massacred over 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped at least one hundred hostages.
So far no investigations have been launched into how the invaders were able to cross Israel’s heavily fortified border unimpeded, nor why it took Israel’s highly trained security forces over six hours to respond to calls for help.
Since 2005, when Israel expelled all Jewish residents from Gaza and ceded the territory to Muslims, Israel has been building sophisticated defense systems along the border. Foreseeing a possible above-ground invasion, Israel spent $220 million to develop an advanced security system “with no margin of error.” This includes barbed wire fences and a 23-foot high wall. Motion sensors are embedded in the ground along the electronic fences, which are accompanied by watchtowers armed with remote-control machine guns. The border is also patrolled by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or drones, and Humvees operated by highly trained troops. Hundreds of night-vision cameras placed along the border constantly transmit to command centers which are operational 24/7.
Also deployed along the Gaza border is at least one semi-autonomous robotic vehicle called the Jaguar, equipped with dozens of cameras, sensors, transmitters and a 7.62mm MAG machine gun. The Jaguar sports a remote-controlled PA system and can self-destruct if captured by the enemy.
To stave off underground invasions, a 40-mile-long underground “smart fence” equipped with hundreds of AI-powered cameras, radar, and other sensors. The fence can detect infiltration by sea and is connected to a remote-controlled weapons system. One hundred and forty thousand tons of steel and concrete were reportedly used to build the barrier.
Israel’s Gazan border security also includes Sky Dew, a giant airborne balloon designed to help the Israel Air Force detect threats such as missiles and aircraft.
Video footage from Saturday’s invasion shows Muslim forces using a single bulldozer to dismantle a barbed wire fence. Media operatives have tried to claim that the invaders were able to cross the border after first dropping bombs on observation towers, somehow evading detection by Sky Dew, UAVs, electronic sensors and patrols. There is also no explanation for how the loss of transmission escaped notice by the military and intelligence units in the command centers.
Those units conduct regular drills and maneuvers. According to one military commander who was stationed at the Gaza border, one of those drills is a daily “dawn alert” during which both the night and day shifts inspect the border’s defenses. The Muslim forces, who invaded during the dawn hours, would have stumbled into a massive surveillance exercise by hypervigilant troops.
“In the 40 or more years that I’ve been following Israel one way or another, I’ve never seen this happen,” commented Trump-appointed former US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman. “I’ve never seen the border breached in this manner. Usually, even one person from Gaza gets close to the border, they’re intercepted and neutralized long before they can do anything. This is just something I’ve never seen before. It’s of course a large intelligence failure.”
Israeli officials have also not addressed how hours after the attack began and Israel’s forces had been alerted, the invaders were able to return the way they came, taking hostages on dirt bikes back to Gaza.
“It is almost inconceivable how they missed this,” said CIA counterterrorism veteran Marc Polymeropoulos.
Security experts are also baffled as to how Israel’s intelligence network, which includes the feared Mossad and the country’s domestic intelligence agency, the Shin Bet, could have been ignorant of the operation.
“I’m truly astonished for something of this magnitude to go down and for the Israelis to have no clue that this is about to happen. I’m just speechless,” said Senior Fellow Colin Clarke at the global security research tank Soufan Center. “They have had sources inside these Palestinian groups for years.”
“Israel has exquisite, world-class intelligence collection and analysis capabilities and would have a far better picture of what’s going on in its own backyard. This one falls squarely on the Israelis,” he added.
Former Kerem Shalom Battalion Commander Yoram Erez wrote: "Something here doesn't add up to me!!! This is a mystery that I can't find an answer to since yesterday?
"I happen to know how things work in Gaza and on the border. I was the commander of the Kerem Shalom sector (Rafiah), I was in charge of Kissuf sector, I know the perimeter fence very well, I know how the army works there. I was in the Shatti refugee camp in Gaza, I was in charge of the Jibaliya refugee camp, I would make ambushes on the fence and deep in the area. I met Gazans, ate and breathed Gaza.
"The obstacle is built so that even a fox cannot pass it:
"Alerts are set according to 3 levels of pressure. It must alert when it is cut. There are, 24/7, forces that are responsible for arriving within a few minutes, if not seconds, to the point where there is an alert in the fence.
"Every day they do at least one penetration drill. Each subdivision has a standby squad whose role is to increase the force in an emergency situation. Observations scattered along the border cover every inch of it.
"The female observers are champions at identification. They don't miss. They detect movement even before it even approaches the obstacle - day and night. At problematic points (dead areas) they place a tank with observation and detection capabilities, and a terrifying firepower. In some cases snipers are deployed in the field.
"Every day before dawn there is a ‘dawn alert’ procedure. At this hour all the forces are awake (in this case also the hour when hundreds of terrorists entered Israel). The night shift alternates with the day shift. The commander of each force inspects the axis to make sure there were no infiltrations during the night.
"Trackers that move on the axis know how to recognize traces. They know who crossed the fence, how much and even when.
"Each scenario has a clear procedure. For example, a procedure for infiltrating terrorists, a procedure for taking hostages. Everything is written in blood and has been proving itself for years.
"There are several other layers of security that this is not the place to talk about. In short, we are talking about an obstacle that proves itself for years and years.
"So how the hell does a Palestinian tractor move towards the fence without anyone reacting to it?
"How did the tractor manage to sabotage the fence for a long hour and open access to Israel without anyone reacting to it?
"How did hundreds of terrorists and civilians cross the barrier without anyone on our side lifting a finger?
"How did terrorists arrive on foot and in vehicles, armed from head to toe, to dozens of Israeli settlements, without any reaction from our side?
"How did hundreds of terrorists stay in Israeli territory for long hours, shoot hundreds of Israelis, loot property, without there being even a single reaction on our side?
"How did it happen that hundreds of terrorists kidnapped dozens of Israelis, woke women, children, babies, old people from their deaths, surprised soldiers, officers when they were not ready, and kidnapped them to Gaza, without anyone stopping them?
"How is it that one bullet was not fired?
"How did all this happen under our noses?
"Where did an entire division go?
"Where did 3 brigades go?
"Who swallowed 9 battalions?
"What happened to 36 companies?
"Where did an entire regular infantry brigade go that usually outnumbers the elite?
"Where were all the reserve battalions that augment the regular army?
Open your eyes. ¨Did you know that Hamas was really created by the Mossad of Israel for the strategic purpose of preventing the creation of a Palestinian state? Thanks to the Mossad, Israel’s “Institute for Intelligence and Special Tasks”, the Hamas was allowed to reinforce its presence in the occupied territories.¨
I don't have the link to this article but if you do your own research on G o o, you will find other information. I am not defending Hamas actions that were horrible.
The Mossad didn't see it coming. Impossible.
This last Saturday event is similar to the 911 Agenda, a PsyOp Operation to create war, terror and control.
I get your satire, Ken. But the idiom still stood for Bush/Cheney/Rummy of ‘never let a good crises go to waste’. And we as a country and citizenry are poorer because of it. We fucking invaded Iraq on a WMD lie, on heels of 9/11, and what a shit ton of blood, treasure and trust we lost.
The news I read, true or false, said Bush was misled by intelligence. Which is an oxymoron. Then I watched an interview of a smirking informant who knew the mislead was deliberate. So much for WMDs.
If you do not see destruction of the primary financial center, 3,000 deaths on US soil, three crashed jetliners, an attack on the pentagon and film of bin Laden celebrating while watching the towers collapse, as an emergency, I don’t know how you’d define one. After the fact is the same way people denigrate the dead who can no longer fight back.
I could never be faithful to a government that has the capacity to level skyscrapers and murder thousands, clearly a lot of overkill to start a war. You can make charges but not back them up. Some say the IDF let Hamas kill Jews. Some say FDR knew Pearl Harbor was coming. Its all subjective. People make shit up, every day. Worst part of that bull is, it denigrates the sacrifices made by everyone, especially armed forces. To you its no more than conjecture, but seems traitorous to me.
And I do hope you are insulted by that, because you deserve to be.
What is this, Matt, tag? You don’t want me to have a chance to reply, so you post one here and then over there, then back? Watch the name-calling. My vocabulary bristles with expletives.
How old were you then? I remember well that Desert Shield became Desert Storm. I remember Kuwait, oil fields set afire. I read that Kuwaits rulers now needed to call 4 trillion in US T-bills because they’d been forced to flee. Afghanistan and Iraq were both training and sponsoring Al-Queda and we’d recently been attacked. It had everything to do with 9/11, a war on terror.
“But let’s get back to the question of how these monsters were able to slip up on Israeli and, it seems, American intel agencies for this slaughter of Jews. The NEW YORK POST reports that the mastermind was a man named Mohammed Deif; their headline offers some welcome unintentional humor (our favorite kind) on a day when we can really use some. Just read the POST’s headline…
“Palestinian militant behind Israeli attack is slippery, one-armed, one-legged former bomb maker,” it reads. Okay, we take our laughs where we can find them. Presumably this guy got out of bomb-making because after the first two attempts, he realized he just wasn’t very good at it.
He’s obviously better at planning. He’s got a reputation as a “psycho” and a “cat with nine lives” because he’s survived so many assassination attempts. We know he’s responsible for this massacre because he posted a video on Saturday announcing the start of the people’s “revolution.”
The name “Deif” means “guest” in Arabic and apparently refers to his habit of moving around a lot and staying with a variety of other operatives to avoid detection. As the POST reports, “Deif has remained in the shadows for decades despite Israel’s best efforts to take him out at least five times in assassination attempts.” Now this wheelchair-bound savage will be deified by Hamas, Hezbollah and their contemptible fans.
Col. Eyal Rosen of the Israeli army reserves said his “main goal is to destroy Israel. This is one of the first steps --- this is just the beginning.”
So, apparently this guy is so slippery that Israeli intelligence hasn’t been able to find him or know what he’s up to, even with the many people, including Iranians, who must have been helping him. One would think, though, that even if they didn’t know of his plan, they (and we) would have been extra-cautious around the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, with tensions rising and other factors that made the day significant. We hope to bring you more about the cause of this deadly intel failure very soon, but in the meantime, let’s look at the situation in our own country and the likelihood of a similar failure. JUST THE NEWS has done that.
Does the fact that the U.S. has 18 intelligence gathering agencies give you any peace of mind? Me, neither. Those agencies have been busying themselves targeting Trump supporters as dangerous domestic terrorists and didn’t pick up on the threat in Israel --- or didn’t move on that threat --- and probably don’t have a clue what thousands of potential terrorists, mostly young men, coming across our southern border are doing here.
Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy spoke about this on Monday, saying, “Looking at our own intelligence failures, we have to look at our border....[This year] in my own state [California], we caught two from Yemen on the terror watchlist; [also some] from China and others. Why are they coming to America? What do they have planned and who are they communicating with?”
The NEW YORK POST has a good summary of the large number being apprehended.
Of course, these are just the ones we apprehended. Do you think any terrorist working for a slippery eel like Mohammed Deif would let himself get caught?
Israel has (well, had) a border fence, but as part of their carefully plotted attack, Hamas broke it down to come through. Here, it’s been so much easier for young men from all over the world to slip in gradually, as the Biden administration has installed handy turnstiles in areas that have any barrier at all. Come right in! Feel free to mix in with the people pouring in from this hemisphere, and then go wherever you like. We won’t stop you.
The Senate Intelligence Committee released a redacted threat assessment just a few weeks ago, on September 20, warning about Hamas and Hezbollah in the context of the Iranian regime. “Iran has growing intelligence and CI [aside: as in “confidential informant,” such as American Robert Malley and his associates] capabilities to advance its geopolitical objectives,” it says.
No kidding. We would add the phrase, “in large part because of this administration’s Iran policy.””

This last Saturday event is similar to the 911 Agenda, a PsyOp Operation to create war, terror and control.
...¨ Meanwhile, Arafat’s Fatah Movement for National Liberation as well as the Palestinian Left were subjected to the most brutal form of repression and intimidation Let us not forget that it was Israel, which in fact created Hamas. According to Zeev Sternell, historian at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, “Israel thought that it was a smart ploy to push the Islamists against the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO)”. Ahmed Yassin, the spiritual leader of the Islamist movement in Palestine, returning from Cairo in the seventies, established an Islamic charity association. Prime Minister Golda Meir, saw this as a an opportunity to counterbalance the rise of Arafat’s Fatah movement. According to the Israeli weekly Koteret Rashit (October 1987), “The Islamic associations as well as the university had been supported and encouraged by the Israeli military authority” in charge of the (civilian) administration of the West Bank and Gaza. “They [the Islamic associations and the university] were authorized to receive money payments from abroad.” The Islamists set up orphanages and health clinics, as well as a network of schools, workshops which created employment for women as well as system of financial aid to the poor. And in 1978, they created an “Islamic University” in Gaza. “The military authority was convinced that these activities would weaken both the PLO and the leftist organizations in Gaza.” At the end of 1992, there were six hundred mosques in Gaza. Thanks to Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad (Israel’s Institute for Intelligence and Special Tasks), the Islamists were allowed to reinforce their presence in the occupied territories. Meanwhile, the members of Fatah (Movement for the National Liberation of Palestine) and the Palestinian Left were subjected to the most brutal form of repression. In 1984, Ahmed Yassin was arrested and condemned to twelve years in prison, after the discovery of a hidden arms cache. But one year later, he was set free and resumed his activities. And when the Intifada (“uprising”) began, in October 1987, which took the Islamists by surprise, Sheik Yassin responded by creating the Hamas (The Islamic Resistance Movement): “God is our beginning, the prophet our model, the Koran our constitution”, proclaims article 7 of the charter of the organization. Ahmed Yassin was in prison when, the Oslo accords (Declaration of Principles on Interim Self-Government) were signed in September 1993. The Hamas had rejected Oslo outright. But at that time, 70% of Palestinians had condemned the attacks on Israeli civilians. Yassin did everything in his power to undermine the Oslo accords. Even prior to Prime Minister Rabin’s death, he had the support of the Israeli government. The latter was very reluctant to implement the peace agreement. The Hamas then launched a carefully timed campaign of attacks against civilians who were already poverty stricken and living in metal sheds, one day before the meeting between Palestinian and Israeli negotiators, regarding the formal recognition of Israel by the National Palestinian Council. These events were largely instrumental in the formation of a Right wing Israeli government following the May 1996 elections. Quite unexpectedly, Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered Sheik Ahmed Yassin to be released from prison (“on humanitarian grounds”) where he was serving a life sentence. Meanwhile, Netanyahu, together with President Bill Clinton, was putting pressure on Arafat to control the Hamas. In fact, Netanyahu knew that he could rely, once more, on the Islamists to sabotage the Oslo accords. Worse still: after having expelled Yassin to Jordan, Prime Minister Netanyahu allowed him to return to Gaza, where he was welcomed triumphantly as a hero in October 1997. Arafat was helpless in the face of these events. Moreover, because he had supported Saddam Hussein during the1991 Gulf war (while the Hamas had cautiously abstained from taking sides), the Gulf states decided to cut off their financing of the Palestinian Authority. Meanwhile, between February and April 1998, Sheik Ahmad Yassin was able to raise several hundred million dollars, from those same countries. The budget of the Hamas was said to be greater than that of the Palestinian Authority. These new sources of funding enabled the Islamists to effectively pursue their various charitable activities. It is estimated that one Palestinian out of three is the recipient of financial aid from the Hamas. And in this regard, Israel has done nothing to curb the inflow of money into the occupied territories. The Hamas had built its strength through its various acts of sabotage of the peace process, in a way which was compatible with the interests of the Israeli government. In turn, the latter sought in a number of ways, to prevent the application of the Oslo accords. In other words, Hamas was fulfilling the functions for which it was originally created: to prevent the creation of a Palestinian State. And in this regard, Hamas and Ariel Sharon, see eye to eye; they are exactly on the same wave length.¨
I have seen those sort of reports years ago-- Zionist occupier authorities allowing Hamas to grow in order to weaken the PLO. It sounds like a classic example of Divide et impera. Not sure why all that implies an inside job this week along the lines of what "truthers" may think about 911.
It's perhaps analogous to the difference between saying that our government, or some part of it, was warned about a Japanese attack, and the proposition that Pearl Harbor was "an inside job."
There are some folks who have trouble accepting news from occupied Palestine at face value, there has to be a "false flag" angle.
If Hamas was created by the Mossad, that mean the event on last Saturday 7, 2023 was orchestrated by Israel. So they killed their own people to accomplish what they want to do since a long time. Erase Gaza and take the land. Netanyahu has warned Palestinians to leave Gaza. To leave Gaza? How?
A benefit of this attack is USA super filling Israeli arms stockpile and nobody caring (cause ya gotta fight those Hamas/Hezbollah/Iran savages). The arms from USA to Israel are already flowing to Ukraine. Israeli opinion piece in WSJ in Jan ‘23 complained how low munitions stocks were. Israel is now laundering point to continue arms flow to Ukraine — IN CASE a new Congress or POTUS should shut off the direct flow from USA to Ukraine. Insurance policy has been created, kibbutz families near Gaza may be the pawns. Sick if true.
Ken - If Israel has created Hamas it means that they are the one who let them in. It is an Inside Job like 911 was. Of course, with the help of USA who wants wars all the time.
Not many years ago I would have dismissed this as nuthead nonsense. Now I believe our ruling class is evil and insane and what you say could well be true. I don’t have a particular religion so I don’t consider myself Christian but I do feel the Christian belief that people can be possessed by demons certainly does seem to be true of our ruling class. Certainly a very unfortunate development for us all.
Ken, it has been shown that if your government continually lies to you (Iraq WMD, Covid, Jan 6) that healthy inquiring minds no longer drink the Kool-Aid
Trying tp picture a mind drinking kool-aid. “It has been shown.”
Government changes. Administrations change. Corcumstances change. There are always truths and falsehoods. Like it or not we all judge, and you judge me as wrong.
The trick is to examine and decide what is true, and you just aren’t very good at that.
It goes to show you that any wall that has no enforcement on the other side is useless. Walls slow people down at best. They don't stop anyone who wants to get past it.
Thanks for the post. Great information. There’s obviously a lot more to this story that definitely needs to come out since this event could easily lead us into WW3. This is also what Vivek is saying. My favorite for 2024.
Vivek is great. I’ve read his first book, “Woke, Inc.” read his articles and watched many of his videos. Both he and his wife, Apoorva, are totally committed to fighting Woke ideology and are totally committed to fighting it since they see how evil it is. Elon says Woke is a “mind virus” and a threat to civilization. That sure is the truth.
The security apparently wasn't there. That is my point. You can write anything on paper. The Maginot line existed but it didn't matter and was made irrelevant.
Our southern border could have a big beautiful wall, but if all you have to do is get past it and you are home free, then the wall is barely a deterrent, just a nuisance.
“The Maginot line existed but it didn't matter and was made irrelevant.”
Last year I read a fascinating book called “Blitzed: Drugs in the Third Reich.” by Norman Ohler about the extensive use of methamphetamines in Hitler’s Germany and in the German army which fueled their “Blitzkrieg, Lightning War” attacks where they were fearless, supremely confident and full of energy which enabled them to go nonstop for days at a time which made them seem to be superhuman, invincible and unstoppable and made the Maginot line irrelevant since the French soldiers were terrified and overwhelmed.
He also said in Hitler’s early career he would often complain of poor health and lack of energy. Once he started the meth though his speeches were full of energy and supreme confidence in himself and his ideology. This attracted many to him and certainly drastically altered the course of world history.
The question is then, what made Israel’s impressive defenses so totally irrelevant?
They will figure it out. But when you rely on technology alone, you have to realize it can fail, be hacked, or otherwise not function the way you think it should. That one girl in the kibbutz recognized the difference in the sounds of the activity and armed up to repel the invaders. She worked far better than that fence. Technology is a boost, but it is dangerous to rely on it for all the above reasons.
But they didn’t rely on technology alone. They understood the danger quite well and did every thing they could, both with people and technology, to prevent it. So how did it happen?
It is stunning to see the reactions on the left. They have been excusing criminal and depraved behavior for years. Now they show that there is no level of depravity that will condemn rather than try to justify.
I am also stunned to read some of these comments. How are you looking for context in a massacre of women and children?
When Israel does it, does Ben Shapiro condemn it? He might say "They're not deliberately targeting civilians"...to me, that has never mattered, because if you bomb an area as densely populated as the Gaza Strip then you KNOW you are going to kill lots of women and children, just like how if you throw a water balloon at someone in a large crowd then you KNOW that other people are also going to get soaked. If you know that and you say "Well, it doesn't matter, gotta break eggs to make an omelette", *especially* in past years when Hamas couldn't even manage to kill ten people and you responded to their ineffective (at that time) attacks by killing hundreds of Palestinians regardless of their innocence or guilt, then you don't get to claim the moral high ground. You have killed civilians when you could have chosen to take a more surgical approach, and you are just as much a murderer as any terrorist.
Is that a version of the cease fire request, now that the massacre is done? I don’t endorse killing civilians. But there is no way that Israel can fail to respond to this atrocity. Or would we prefer that Hamas just builds on their “success”?
Hamas would say there was no way they could fail to respond to atrocities committed by Israel. If you took the time to read the history, you would know that there is blood on both sides.
As someone once said, "An eye for an eye will leave everyone blind."
No, it's a question I'm asking to see whether or not you feel that sometimes, it's acceptable to kill civilians. If you're willing to apply the same standard to Israel as you do to Hamas, to condemn it when they do it as well.
Because I don't know if you were paying attention the last 10 years, but they've killed a LOT. On none of those occasions did I say "Well, the Palestinians have to make them pay for it" because I knew A) that would be just as wrong and B) that wouldn't make things any better, because it would perpetuate the cycle of violence.
I think that sometimes killing civilians is unavoidable. And I think that Hamas has done everything possible to make that the case, using their civilian population as a shield.
There is simply no moral equivalence here, no matter how much some want to make it so.
It is historically routine for civilians to be targeted, directly or indirectly in war. In WWII, we had Hamburg and Dresden. In the Civil War, we had Grant and Sherman waging economic warfare that was sure to cause civilian deaths. The general rule is that the civilization population is under the control of war-waging government, and is (when possible) helping the war-effort in whatever manner the government has decided would be most useful.
The rule about waging war against civilians was originally intended to mean "civilians under control", as in advancing into a village that the enemy has abandoned. It was never to meant to apply to civilians that are not under control, as in those on the receiving end of bombing attacks. Nor was it meant to apply to guerilla war. It is perfectly legitimate to target civilians that are not under control, either by being at a distance or by waging war behind the lines. It is a bit high on the putative Nastiness Scale, and can certainly end in lasting bitterness, as it did in the case of the Civil War. But it is legitimate.
I agree. It’s absurd for people to say Israel doesn’t target civilians when they’re leveling entire neighborhoods in Gaza with their bombing raids. Reminds me of a video I recently saw about why we didn’t drop the atom bomb on Tokyo in WW2 instead of those other much smaller cities. They answer was that we had already incinerated Tokyo with our fire bombing a few months earlier and there was nothing left of the city or people to bomb.
I fear for our sons that the warmongering neocons politicians and their donors, who never actually went in combat, will send our mostly poor and white men to bleed and die in yet another foreign war that our founders told us to stay out of.
Sorry, Sasha, but I had to stop reading before I could finish. It doesn't matter if we look "weak" to nations such as Russia or China. I think saying otherwise is neocon talk, and I was under the impression that Trump supporters hated neocons as much as genuine leftists did. What's more, compare the body counts--even with over 600 dead, the IDF has killed far more civilians over the last decade than Hamas, and I will bet my bottom dollar that before this is over they'll have bombed Gaza to rubble again and slaughtered at least twice the number of Palestinians as Israelis. Violence begets violence, and while I don't believe it is ever justifiable to kill civilians, well, when you blockade the Gaza Strip for 15 years give or take, frequently bomb the place, limit how much food gets in, how much electricity they have, etc (I very much recommend listening to Glenn Greenwald or Kim Iversen or Jimmy Dore on this to learn more) and you keep the ones who want to leave from leaving...well, then as a resident of the Gaza Strip, you have only two options. Option 1: just take all of this suffering without doing anything about it. Option 2: fight back because you have nothing to lose.
The United States does similar things to many countries in the name of the same war on terror that you mention here, and it's very understandable why the survivors of all that bombing see America as the enemy, possibly wanting revenge badly enough to join groups like ISIS, being so full of rage that they're beyond caring whether or not civilians die at their hands. The moral of the story is this: whether you're the United States, or Israel, or whoever, if you go a long time making life miserable for people in other countries and/or killing lots of those people, eventually you will experience blowback. I'm not saying that this makes anything and everything done by Hamas or Al Qaeda or whoever justified. But I *am* going to say that if your family gets massacred because they happened to live too close to some terrorists who were being targeted (or if there were no terrorists at all and they just bombed the area because they saw military aged males there, which Matt Taibbi and others have written about them doing), maybe you're too emotional to have a very good moral compass after that. You just want revenge. Am I willing to consider that maybe Israeli survivors of these attacks will similarly be too emotional to have a very good moral compass, and sympathize with their plight as well regardless of whether I approve of what they ultimately do to others? Yes. Yes I am. But at the end of the day, I feel most sorry for the people who have suffered the most, and that's still the Palestinians.
It’s a terrible situation for both sides and way too much hate on both sides to be resolved peacefully. The question now is how much the rest of the world will be drawn into this raging inferno.
EDIT: I would like for it to be resolved peacefully and, as I believe Tucker said about Ukraine, it would be possible for the United States to force peace or at least peace talks if they wanted to. Unfortunately, the United States doesn't want to, because the military industrial complex has bought politicians and makes a lot of money supplying weapons to both Ukraine and Israel. If Ukraine had no need of weapons, that would be bad for business. If Israel had no need for weapons, that would be bad for business.
I believe our ruling class wants to use Ukraine as a base to incite regime change in Russia, then grind the Russian people into the dirt and install their puppet to rule Russia and to give them whatever they want to plunder from Russia’s vast natural resources. This is also what Putin believes and he has very good reason to believe our government wants to do to him and Russia what they did to Gaddafi and Libya. Gaddafi dead, Libya destroyed.
“Who benefits from the depopulation of unkraine by the war?”
“7.5 Trillion in Resources” - Why BlackRock is Trying to control Ukraine. (6 min)
Yeah, those are also incentives. I forget who said this publicly, some politician or official, but it went something like "We're weakening Russia and not a single American has died, isn't this great?"
More Ukrainians than I can keep track of have died since it started, Russians too, but those people are all considered expendable pawns in the game of geopolitical chess. We might see a repeat of this between China and Taiwan, with America having the same objectives there while publicly claiming to have different objectives. They say that they're being altruistic and just helping poor victims stand up to a big bully...but that's never, or hardly ever, the case.
I totally agree with the WW2 bomber pilot, Paul Tibbets, who said the bombing of Hiroshima saved a lot of lives because it ended the war without the necessity of a land invasion of Japan which would have caused far more deaths both of Americans and Japanese who were fanatically committed to defending Japan. No reason at all though for nuclear war with Russia to secure Ukraine’s borders while ours are wide open. There is also no reason at all for us to even be at war with Russia. We could have easily been friends with Putin and the Russian people which would have been very beneficial for us and for the world. Too late now. Watch the BBC one of the bombing of Hiroshima. Very well done video.
Sasha, love the article but why cater to the wokeism of capitalizing Black, Brown and not White. This psyop tactic feeds the lies of systemic white privilege nonsense. Non compliance would dictate its all or none in this regard.
"A powerful, if delicate coalition was forming, preparing to make a stand to save the republic from the deep state. Events in the Middle East have predictably destroyed the momentum. People who admired each other last week eye each other now with suspicion. Terrible luck, I guess.
"Inversionism:
"Happened literally over night and will persist going forward into the elections.
"Once relatively unified over draconian COVID insanity and the vaccine war crimes, now divided over which people in Israel we should defend unquestioningly.
"The only people we should be blindly defending are the Israeli and Palestinian civilians and their individual rights as human beings, but instead we're defending the establishment government narratives and war criminals.
"I don't know how many more contrived conflicts and manufactured controversies it will take until we all finally wake up and just say no, we're not participating in the charade anymore.
"Some of us have felt like this for years with it being very frustrating to see the same patterns happening over and over, constantly trying to remind people about recent history and how backwards it all is, finally getting some agreement, and then the constant reversion back to old perceptions when something big enough happens.
"COVID has helped a lot of people see how the elites are malicious, subversive, and participating in a grand conspiracies against humanity, but every time something really big event goes down, fear and ideology takes over and they revert back to their old ways of servitude, trust, and giving the same ol' criminals the benefit of the doubt and trusting the narratives they present us.
"It's quite simple. Question everything and assume conspiracy. There is a death cult of multiple ethnicities and many different publicly claimed religions that is trying to invert reality on multiple for a subversive anti-human agenda.
"Don't fall for it. Be team humanity, anti-elites."
Bret Weinstein’s interview with Vivek is well worth watching. They both agree that pretty much all our institutions are full of rot, insane and quite dangerous to us. An impressively damning conversation by a couple of our best public intellectuals. I now totally distrust our ruling class which is evil and insane. Certainly a very unfortunate development for our fallen world but it is our world so we just have to make the best of it.

Impossible.
This last Saturday event is similar to the 911 Agenda, a PsyOp Operation to create war, terror and control.
...¨ Meanwhile, Arafat’s Fatah Movement for National Liberation as well as the Palestinian Left were subjected to the most brutal form of repression and intimidation Let us not forget that it was Israel, which in fact created Hamas.
Remember that viral clip of Madeleine Albright being asked about US sanctions killing over 500k children in Iraq and saying that it was worth it to keep Saddam in check?
That's what the US does to countries, what it was doing to countries back in the 90s too, and THAT is what led people in those countries to want payback in the form of 9/11. We were never told that at the time, though. We were told "They just hate us for our freedoms. These are evil people who attacked us for no reason, and now they must all die if we're to be safe."
Saying the same stuff about Palestinians--ignoring what was done to them in the past by Israel and focusing only on this attack, and saying "They did this for no reason, they're just out to kill people because they love it because they're evil"--is the same thing. We all should know better by now, and it's very disappointing to see that so many people still don't.
The benefits of this attack by Hamas are few and somewhat limited. The benefits of this attack (and worldwide sympathy created) to Israel and especially USA are much, much bigger.
Which side dominates the media landscape?
That’s the side that can lie with impunity.
It’s only ONE SIDE that can do that, NOT BOTH.
Remember the years and years of the ‘Russia collusion’ story?
Who was lying about that?
D, yes the Left now dominates the media. That is obvious. But something the others are arguing is also true and obvious; Bush/Cheney lied about WMD and their neocon warmongering cost us thousands of lives and hundreds of. Billions. I am against the Left, the RINOS, and the warmongers of both parties. And so are others you are arguing with.
With all due respect…
Are you sure of that?
Because a predilection for prevarication is one primary characteristic of the fascist far left.
Another is a tendency to dodge questions while diverting attention onto other topics.
Let’s talk about the facts that they are desperately trying to avoid:
1. One side dominates the media.
2. Leading to the conclusion that one side can lie with impunity - and does.
So far, they have failed to disprove those facts.
I’m talking about 10-15 years before 2016. Were you too young to remember?
Agree completely, with your comment here ones below, Gabe.
(Quoting in case you try to change it later:)
“MLB Fan
Pure BS if you think only one side does it.”
Ah yes, when all else fails - as is usually the case with the fascist far left, fall back on the old stand by, the Strawman argument.
Which side dominates the media?
That’s the side that can lie with impunity.
Why don’t you show everyone that you can answer a question for once?
See? You can’t even answer a question.
The word is DOMINATE.
As in one side Dominates the media and can get away with lying whenever it wants.
BTW, are you trying to pretend that you somehow ‘won’ the argument as a prelude to running away?
MLB Fan, for once I sort of agree with you. "Both sides may indeed do it"--but there is a third side that doesn't, i.e., the MAGA side. That is why "both sides" are so desperate to destroy it.
They do not. That's what people on the Left believe but it isn't true. Are you talking about illegal immigrants at the border?
People immersed in the left's carefully constructed fantasy world truly believe the truth is a lie when they see it. Truth and fact don't comport with the left's worldview which is little more than than a worn out rerun of socialist reality TV.
OK, I take it back. You are still a putz, MLB Fan.
All politicians lie but the difference is Ds lie as a tactic, Rs lie out of stupidity and naievite.
Agreed.
There are two reasons why the government-media complex keeps manipulating us.
One: it's easy. Two: it benefits them.
January 6 had the obvious advantage to the Democrats in that it rushed confirmation of the electoral tally, ignoring objections that would have led to investigations. That’s why I believe it was orchestrated.
Today, while thousands of Middle Eastern and Chinese border crossers are being “lost” into the United States, THIS is what the FBI is doing.
https://www.newsweek.com/2023/10/13/exclusive-fbi-targets-trump-followers-as-2024-election-nears-1831836.html
Synopsis: “We really have ti be careful here so that what we’re doing doesn’t look like what we’re doing.”
We're so screwed!
That’s the objective, to make you afraid. Don’t cave. Most of us have probably already been “evaluated.”
Great opinion. Your first sentence should be enough for people in the Democrat party to
change their views pronto. The Durham report gave us four years of their hard work showing us that they won’t.
Those who would compare January 6, to any major event like 911, WW-II, Vietnam... are more than just stone cold liars; they are morons.
Yeah it’s pretty unbelievable that anyone could compare J6 to those events. Yet folks actually think it’s a fair comparison...
No, the 20-30-media producers dum it up to appeal to that same age group like a video game. If it sells, they just keep going with it like a movie script.
Yep... which is why I characterized them as I have. Woefully, ignorant.
Good article, lots to digest. As I recently reflected on how the Democratic Party has changed so much in recent years I remembered something that garnered a lot of chatter several years ago when it happened (I believe during the Obama administration):
The Democratic Party removed God from its platform. 🧐
Sasha, in this article you knocked it out of the park. I was really tearful reading this article,
and I know you poured your soul into it because it feels and reads like it. I cannot comment now, but will be back on later. Thanks be to God for you.
"Where did thousands of soldiers go???
"Someone here needs to provide explanations!!"

Sure, and W orchestrated the 9/11 attacks and killed 3,000 Americans to justify seizing middle eastern oil. Gotcha.
And that’s just pitiful.
Ken - 911 was an Inside Job. Bin Laden was on CIA's payroll.
Ken, we went to war with Iraq. Pray tell what did 9/11 had to do with Iraq? Do we need to start calling you the Kool-Aid kid?
And you were probably 6. Age or IQ.
Just read the POST’s headline…
https://nypost.com/2023/10/10/who-is-mohammed-deif-palestinian-militant-behind-israel-attack/
JUST THE NEWS has done that.
https://justthenews.com/government/congress/intel-missing-hamas-attack-plus-rising-number-suspected-terrorists-border-pose
The NEW YORK POST has a good summary of the large number being apprehended.
https://nypost.com/2023/09/15/160-people-on-terror-watch-list-stopped-at-us-border-in-2023/
Of course, these are just the ones we apprehended.

The Mossad didn't see it coming. Impossible.
This last Saturday event is similar to the 911 Agenda, a PsyOp Operation to create war, terror and control.
...¨ Meanwhile, Arafat’s Fatah Movement for National Liberation as well as the Palestinian Left were subjected to the most brutal form of repression and intimidation Let us not forget that it was Israel, which in fact created Hamas.
It has been shown that drug use can cause psychosis. It was also a thing before drug abuse became common.
So what is true according to you?
It goes to show you that any wall that has no enforcement on the other side is useless. Walls slow people down at best. They don't stop anyone who wants to get past it.
You didn't read the article Orenv. The author explains all the security around the fences.
Thanks for the post. Great information. There’s obviously a lot more to this story that definitely needs to come out since this event could easily lead us into WW3. This is also what Vivek is saying. My favorite for 2024.
Vivek who? Vivek Ganapathy Ramaswamy? Yes the cabal, the blood drinkers, want WW3.
I will have a look. Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America's Social Justice Scam Hardcover – Aug. 17 2021 by Vivek Ramaswamy (Author)
Read the article Orenv.
When seconds count the army is just hours away.
And they wonder why we cling
As I said, stunning willingness to excuse anything.
Are you willing to say Israel shouldn't kill civilians? Because I'm willing to say that Hamas shouldn't.
We're at the level of German soldiers bayoneting babies in World War One.
We're being militarized just in time for Biden to run for re-election as a war president beyond criticism.
And many people are eager to go along.
I fear for our sons that the warmongering neocons politicians and their donors, who never actually went in combat, will send our mostly poor and white men to bleed and die in yet another foreign war that our founders told us to stay out of.
Biden will also reinstate the draft; not just for men, but for women. This alone should drive sane people in hordes to the polls.
Sad but true IMO. The Left never lets a crisis go to waste.
It’s not just the Left. Who do you think was in power after 9/11?
https://historymatters.gmu.edu/d/6648/
I agree.

💯 And Max Igan has been saying this since 2014.
Sasha, love the article but why cater to the wokeism of capitalizing Black, Brown and not White. This psyop tactic feeds the lies of systemic white privilege nonsense. Non compliance would dictate its all or none in this regard.
I’ve also complained to Sasha about that but she keeps doing it. I think it’s a remnant of the Woke mind virus she once had.
Maybe it’s preprogrammed in her AI editor
The article was perfect. Go for the overview, not the snarky picking on details and below the woke diagnosis.
On January 6, Pence should have said that he could not certify the election because of to many irregularities. Was he just fearful?
He had no such authority.
Does not the Constitution require that the Vice President certify the election?
I have been posting this comment from Bret Weinstein on multiple threads. I suggest that everyone consider what he says because we are being played.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"A powerful, if delicate coalition was forming, preparing to make a stand to save the republic from the deep state.

Sasha: I pray for an era where we can, as you say, not only at long last, be told the truth, but that we will recognize it when we see it and hear it.
Thank you for doing your part.
The war fever now is worse than after 9/11. The news media fan it.
Once again our elites are leading us to disaster. It's the one thing they do well.
