Very nice piece Sasha…

It reminds me of a famous poem by Thomas S Elliott. “The Wasteland” printed after the Great War, WW1. The war that brought down many empires and a launched a couple more new empires.

“I am old, I wear my trousers rolled” etc, etc, etc….

Who lost their Empires after WW1?

British Empire

Russian Imperial Empire

Turkish Ottomon Caliphate

Austria Hungarian Empire and the Hapsburg Empire along with it

Prussian Empire

Chinese Imperial Empire

Who emerged from this?

The American Empire

The Bolshevik Revolution and the Soviet Union

Mao Zedong and the Chinese Communist Party

Hitler and the Nazi German Empire

I prefer to pay attention to the Preacher, King Solomon, from 3000 years ago. For guidance today in 2024. From his book “Ecclesiastes “ written at the end of his life as an old and very broken man. He broke all of the laws of Kings given by Moses in Deuteronomy Chapter 17. Everyone of them. His Kingdom did not survive his life. It immediately split into two Kingdoms. Israel and Judea. Human beings are flawed creatures.

“All is vanity.”
