As Matt Taibbi stated, “Motherfucker, I’m an American. That shit does not work on me.”

I was thinking about that quote all the way through Sasha’s reading. Words like this built this country.

I'm watching Matt and Walter Kirn on Racket News ( YouTube ) as I type this. Highly recommended!

Listened to them talk about The Jumping Frog of Calaveras County today....while driving thru Calaveras County. As the sun set. Holy fuck...Pretty surreal, pretty profound.

Another winning substack. In rural Ireland this past weekend a 15-year old boy was gang-raped by 5 migrant men. Some of the locals (who don't want to sound racist) wonder if it's because there is not enough things to do in the little town for the migrant men. People who have this mindset need to lose badly - everywhere.

I have dual citizenship with US and Ireland; lost interest in going to the latter when they went open border too.

It's very sad to see Ireland, which never colonized anyone, colonized by the dregs of the 3rd world just to please Anal Varadkar and his master, George Soros.

The Irish would be more than justified in hanging _everyone_ involved in importing the criminal aliens who raped that boy.

They should be hanged. NOT hyperbole.

I love this movie. I actually went to the theater two night in a row back in the day to see it twice, and own the DVD, and repeat lines out loud from the movie (“old mean old man Mike” just a couple of days ago, even though I’m a woman, and “don’t forget to punch the clock, Shorty” also recently) to myself, out loud.

Great essay, thanks for writing it. I was an undecided for most of this year’s campaign, but Trump has won me over in the last month or so.

Awww dang, glad to find the rare Breaking Away fan.....Pamela and Sasha.

We’re not rare! I played on a city recreational basketball team, and our name was Cutters based on the movie. (The basis being we all grew up in a college town, Berkeley, though I actually went to college but our captain did not)

I vaguely remember a scene with a quarry, and the main character being obsessed with learning Italian. The last time I saw it I was around ten, and that was many, many decades ago! It was a great reference.

Why is it so hard to find “Breaking Away” *anywhere*? It’s almost as if it’s been erased from the consciousness of the universe. Sad.

Sasha, you are an eloquent spokesperson for us. It has certainly been a once in a lifetime ride so far. You have made the journey fun while crystalizing thoughts and concepts on behalf of all of us.

While you expressed you needed us after being discarded by your past, we also needed you and each other. No matter how much we want to believe, it is reassuring knowing and interacting with others that were proverbially homeless.

Thank you

You are not being disagreeable. My use of the past tense was to acknowledge the work that has been done. Win or lose the election, we all need to hang together to complete the hard work ahead.

Great post. I'm sorry they treated you so badly. It really is kind of sad how absolutely joyless they are. My daughter had such a wicked sense of humor until she went to college and became a self described activist. She is never happy anymore. Breaks my heart. She at least talks at me. We have lost several"tolerant" friends . It's painful.

You are an excellent writer. Thank you for your insight. ❤️

Great work as always Sasha.

I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t white knuckled at the moment. There’s no way to sugarcoat it. The present situation is existential for the two big sides in this epic showdown.

If Trump wins America lives to fight another day.

If we fail I’m genuinely concerned where this shitshow is headed. This is the last peaceful attempt to wrest power away from some very dangerous people. These same people know if they lose it will not end well for them or their agenda.

The forces of divine inspiration do seem to have intervened in the matter and on more than one occasion. The fraud will no doubt be massive but there’s something favorable to humanity that lingers in the air.

God Speed everyone. I hope you have planned for potential contingencies throughout the Holiday Season. If not it’s probably not a bad idea to start. You should still have time.

This is truly a zero sum game now; winner take all. I am truly of the mindset that anything can happen now. And Nothing is off the table. 👍

Amazing that the absurd and abusive cases brought by Alvin Bragg and Letitia James and Fani Willis and the raid on Mar a Lago are no longer part of the discussion, and the outright lies of the opposition and the media are now so routine that they are part of the environment. Trump could overcome this because he has the money to defend himself and he has extraordinary fortitude—doubtful that any other human could withstand this. He got shot, so we know he bleeds! He is by any definition a hero! Trump may be our last chance to dismantle the Regime of the Democrats, the media, academia, entertainment, public unions, government contractors, immigration nonprofits and the rent seekers.

Let’s not make an idol of a deeply flawed man. He may be the best choice, given a very morally corrupt nation… but we get the leaders we deserve, often…a reflection of the culture. We need to be on our knees in prayer, for God to show us mercy and to lead us back to honoring HIM above anything or anyone else.

We may deserve Trump, be we definitely do not deserve Kamala.

We deserve whatever God says we deserve… however I would prefer Him to be merciful to us. We need to understand neither Trump nor Harris is our salvation.

I don’t think anyone idolizes the man. I am very thankful that he has stepped up to the plate, what he has gone through because of that decision is unbelievable. Hopefully, God willing, he will lead us out of this disaster. I truly believe he (Trump) was selected by God for such a time as this flaws & all. I voted Trump for President, not my Savior.
