Two of the best. Tucker the ultimate interviewer and Greenwald the most stalwart journalist of his generation and a steadfast believer of free speech. Perhaos the ' alleged conservative politicians and pundits can take a lesson from him. Free speech is when you support it whether you agree or not.

Far Leftists ARE evil. The Democrat party vehicle was hijacked by the far Left and became overt with the election of communist Obama. I am considered a Reagan Democrat, yet I have NOTHING in common with the current party. We are not anti-government, we don't trust the government to do anything well other than infrastructure and it still screws that up in terms of cost.

And right now our malevolent government is working to actively put dissidents like me in jail for voicing my opinion. Talk to the veterans who were exercising the fifth clause of the 1st Amendment and have been in the D.C. gulag for three years WITHOUT DUE PROCESS(5th Amendment).

I am not sure what they were talking about in that first half. Who are all these conservatives who are calling for censorship of the leftist\Anti American coalition who are out protesting for Hamas\Palestine?

The right calls them out for being terror supporters and a few companies said they wouldn't hire them, but nobody is trying to stop them from saying what they believe in. I for one am enjoying watching the Democrat party split in two over the issue and actively encourage the discourse. They created the monster and now they get to deal with it.

Expand full comment

The best discourse is to figure out how to create peace between Israel and its neighbors.

Expand full comment

this is right in my opinion as well, as goal.

Expand full comment

That only works if Trump is the broker and with neighboring states. Hamas is the neighboring maniac.

Expand full comment

Richard, are your asserting Trump is the only one who can broker a deal between the Gazans and the Israelis?

Expand full comment

I didn't say that. Trump has been more successful than anyone else in securing peace between Arab states and Israel, though Carter deserves some credit re Egypt. But I also said that Hamas are maniacs and I don't think peace is possible with them.

Who fired who and for what in this case?

I wouldn't hire Joe Biden or AOC to clean my toilets. You know why I wouldn't. If they want to go out there and exclaim that America and capitalism and whole groups of people are evil and should be exterminated, why should anyone be required to hire them who also happens to disagree with them? How is that "censorship?"

Gina Carano didn't call for genocide. Regardless, plenty of people get fired for espousing political beliefs that are controversial. That's a different argument and not in the scope of what we are talking about.

non-sense. they (if one is calling the red team, conservatives) simply are not in the white house right now. that is the only difference. btw, it's the same the other way too. the blue team would/might remember civil liberties and anti-war points if the red team were in the white house.

Hello Sasha. One comment Glen made concerning the "corruption" of our media and the political contamination of our country's institutions is very on point and pertinent. Americans are generally very intelligent and tend to keep abreast of current events a lot more than what our media seems to think. Basically, Americans are quick to call "bull" on BS when they hear it from our media. The irony is most media seem incapable of comprehending this fact. Likewise, Americans can see corruption from our DOJ and FBI, etc. My opinion is that a big part of the allure of DJT is his promise to clean up our institutions from their obvious bias brought on by individuals' political beliefs. Our system of governance is the best mankind has ever devised, if it is allowed to work as designed by our founding fathers.

A little surprised by your thoughts here, and 98% of the time I’m with you.

The first 40% discussed Ukraine, which you have not really weighed in on, at least what I’ve seen.

Second topic was preserving ing freedom of speech, particularly speech you might vehemently disagree with.

Third was Biden’s pathetic leadership and Trumps prospects, where we know your sentiments.

I didn’t think Glenn really was too off base on the Middle East situation.

My 2 cents.

It was interesting to hear their discussion of free speech vis a vis what's going on in Israel and Gaza. I get their point, they are absolutists when it comes to free speech. But there's something different about this. The situation faced by Israel is existential and horrific. It makes all the censorship and cancel-culture issues we've been dealing with seem utterly trivial by comparison. I don't have a good answer for this.

Expand full comment

As disturbing as it is, we must maintain free speech in all cases unless direct violence is being called for.

Expand full comment

"From the River to the sea, Palestine will be free" is pretty much a call for violence. We're getting into yelling "fire" territory.

Expand full comment

Many who chant that would be perfectly happy if it could be acquired peacefully. The message itself is not a call for violence. Anyway, focus should be on who is actually doing the most killing and bombing and not who’s words are meanest. Bombs kill and maim, words don’t.

Expand full comment

Have Hamas or the Palestinians ever proposed a peaceful solution other than Jews leaving Israel?

Israel is killing tens of thousands more children than Hamas did. How many dead and maimed kids will be enough for you? All 1,000,000 of them. What’s your number to stop the bombing? Chants don’t kill; bombs do.

I fear it's happening again as the blue team loses (doesn't care) about the working class anymore or their concerns. As Elon said very astutely, my blue team became the 'let them eat cake party' during COVID and continues to be. Personal example. My local HS football team just went to the playoffs. get an email, smart phone only tickets for the game. what if you don't have one, or say, you are an elderly grandmother whose phone has large button but no internet? you can't buy tickets to see a high school football game. If you complain? why, you're a stupid football loving red-stater, why not move there? Didn't you watch that movie that man of peace Will Smith made? How does caring about football promote blue state techie rule?

sorry, I do not understand how to make my own post on here, only how to respond.

I want to ask a devil's advocate question: What if LBJ had not withdrew?

So many reasons to ask. The 1968 analogy seems to striking. Consider Trump as Nixon, and Biden now as the old war-abetting dem who the kids don't like. Nope. RFK, JR. is not his dad. He might have been, but maybe he doesn't want to get shot. RFK, Jr. is Gene McCarthy--whose popularity exposed the vulnerability of the old cranky prez. Well, then consider the next dem up, Humphrey, still lost. This might well happen again, as for example, the dems would not be allowed to say make a Gavin/Whitmer ticket, because they are both white and the people who liked the movie Barbie would insist it cannot be a man as president over a woman. unless of course, it was a woman of color and so forth. My point is, the DMC won't pick better this time, and the replacement might not even do as well as Biden.

So, I return to my question. Is it possible that LBJ (who might have won Texas...?) might have done better than Humphrey and might have even (after Bobby was shot) been the dems only chance to win?

what did you think of the debate? Even though he's horsebleep on abortion--and yes, out of step with his fellow Ohians and he's pretty much horsebleep on China, but I still think Vivek 'won' by being the most honest (and slightly less WWIII cheering on than all the others). I mean, we can't beat Vietnam (or Afghanistan) but Tim wants us warring for Jebus on three continents at the same time?! Tim is my new North Dakota guy--get that no-nothing off. Still suspect Vivek knows more about China 'coupling' and how extremely hard (talk about your missing items in stores in the supply chain pipeline) it would be to 'uncouple'--the others copy him on that, Tim Scott has no idea. Finally, since Stanford Medical imposed mask mandates again yesterday, wished Vivek would have gone back to his wheelhouse at least briefly on that.

Excellent discussion by Douglas Macgregor about how deadly this Israel/Hamas war is, how weak America is and how Blinken was treated in countries like Turkey and Iraq indicates a clear loss of respect for America in this region and the rest of the world is watching this. America is disintegrating and is no longer the great power it once was. We’re no longer able to do things as basic as maintain secure borders, safe streets in our cities and educate children in our public schools. The world watches this online just as easily as we do and understands what this means.

Killing children is evil. Israel is killing children by the thousands. There is no moral excuse for indiscriminately killing children. Full stop. This is what it looks like. “Children are nearly half of all casualties Gaza has one of the youngest populations in the world, with 47% under 18 years old, and the health ministry is reporting that as of November 6, 4,104 children have been killed. UN officials estimate that as of November 5, about 1,270 children have been reported missing and may be trapped under rubble.”

Is all of this happening because it’s getting increasingly more difficult to manipulate the masses in an undetected manner? Censorship and propaganda. Political weaponizing of the DOJ and FBI. Voting blocs staying in their place. Laziness and ineptitude of those appointed and elected.

All of it points to a loss of faith in our once trusted institutions. The Left has always tended more towards the burn down and rebuild approach. They aren’t the only ones culpable here, but they just might get their wish. They don’t deserve much of any say in how we rebuild, if you ask me.

Sasha, although I believe there are many things we are not aware of regarding both Ukraine and Israel-Palestine (and I believe this is by design), Greenwald is calling out massive hypocrisy, and that is always a good thing. This is not a problem that will get solved by an election, it is a much deeper problem. Trump is an old man, he’s a carnival barker, a pragmatist without any deeply-help personal convictions, and apparently... cannot get past either the permanent state or the elite groups that have undue influence over how this country actually operates. We don’t really know who he is… and the second half of his tenure made him no better than a rubber stamp for tyranny.

I completely disagree on Trump as he is the only President to lose wealth during service and is having to permanently diminish his wealth fighting feckless, failed lawyers trying to remove his freedom.

But, even if you like him, he lies a lot, and often about financial matters. He tends to stiff his workers, even. That's the one thing said in this interview I would disagree with myself: why would Tucker (or anyone) want to send Trump money?

He's braggadocios, but not a liar. Remember, the ENTIRE media establishment posted lies about him all the time. I always trust this and his actions, more important than words:

It is probable that he has lost money. Although, his 'election fundraising' has been used as well to pay for his legal costs. Is it logical to say that because one group of individuals seek to eliminate him from office, therefor he is a 'good man'? We need to stop thinking in terms of 'black hat vs white hat', it is more complex than this.

Expand full comment

It IS more complex... The entirety of our federal government including 75% of congress are working to eliminate Trump = the majority of our citizens from participating in this great experiment. I don't care if Trump said the word that a majority of our suburban women use regularly - pussy - he has proven to be most honorable while in office. Given how the war in Ukraine has played out, I don't understand why you would oppose this viewpoint shared by Greenwald and Carlson. From the beginning, they have questioned the sanity and morality of supporting a war between Ukraine and Russia. They have consistently pointed out the evils and motivations for this war and their predictions for how it would end get closer to being proven true every day.

Expand full comment

The growing perception around the world, ie, beyond the West, is that Israel is commiting atrocities in Gaza.

The daily cascade of horrific videos reinforces that view.

The fact that Israel continues to kill defenseless civilians, with the tacit backing of the US, sends the message that the West doesn't care what the rest of the world thinks.

And so the gap grows wider.

Brighton Park is a neighborhood on the far south side of Chicago where the people, many of them legal immigrants, are fighting to stop the construction of a refugee tent city for “more than 2,000 immigrants.” The city is spending “$51 million monthly to deal with the asylum seekers.” Most of these people “seeking asylum” will never show up for their court dates and those who do and are denied asylum simply ignore the order to leave the country since it’s not enforced and they know that. These people then are meant to be here permanently which is what the democrats want because they believe it will build up their black/brown base to help them fight white people.

An absurdly insane plan since blacks are totally opposed to it and Hispanics don’t like it either. What kind of message though does this send to the world about America? It sure doesn’t send a message that America is a strong and functional democracy with a positive future.
