That was disappointing but he now acknowledges the 2020 election was dubious. He said so much in tonight's episode. If Tucker had doubted the election in 2021, then Fox might have dumped him two years ago and it's important that he gained more followers and increased his reach since then.

On thing I like about Tucker is that he is not dug in. He can see things differently, change his opinions and say so. And explain where her went wrong. He has a mature relationship with his ego and is not ruled by it.

He took a long-term strategic view. It's obvious he was holding back. The key to grasping that was when he aired a Chinese professor's talk on the fact the CCP had assets in every level of the U.S. government, business, education (so-called), entertainment and media. When Joe gave $85 billion in high tech military equipment that could easily be reverse engineered by the CCP, I knew.

He is a strategist (I hypothesize ENTP).

I really don't know what to think, because, Tucker's right. They can say what they say no matter how ridiculous, because there is no accountability for their words. No one on the left or elites(both sides) with governmental power is held accountable for truth, justice, & common sense. What happened to real journalism? Where the fight was for truth based in goodness and morals to advance citizenship and our nation. Now, it is all a farce. Unvarnished, and in plain sight, they lie and blur the lines. I love that Tucker says it all out loud, lets it hang out there. Hopefully these twitter drops will seed in the hearts and minds of people watching. I read the book, 1984. It is what we are beginning to live. I pray that America stands, because if she falls, there is no where else to go. We are still the most free here, than anywhere else. But, Now I do not automatically trust. The blinders have been ripped off. I suspect that when the media complex starts "noticing Biden's irregularities and commenting on them" then, it's because there is a coordinated effort to do so by someone else who is behind the curtain. Biden is a dumb man, but the Democrat Machine has proven that they can win with dumb, or sick or corrupt candidates. Gavin Newson can go pound sand! They are jackels all of them. Tucker is unfettered. Let's hope he can keep shooting across the bow with many arrows and that truth pierces the mental fog that most people live under.

I really hate this particular "gotcha" because, as with everything, it's such bullshit. That told YOU what you wanted to hear. It gave YOU a chance to write him off and to find SOMETHING you could use as a wedge between him and those who trust him. As with the nonstop Trump surveillance, no one could escape having their texts read and exposed, especially with the ongoing hysteria on the left. This particular thing bugs me because it reminds me how narrow-minded and insular the world I left actually is - how easy it is to slip into that kind of robotic thinking. There is not a SINGLE PERSON ON THE LEFT in media -- NOT ONE on cable news who will criticize a single Democrat. Ever. NOT ONE. Tucker goes after people on both sides, which remains unique and admirable.

Also - he has no incentive on Twitter now. He's not getting paid. He's doing it because he wants to. So to answer your question, yes, he is saying out loud what he thinks.

Dave,

Tucker has voiced out loud on many occasions how wrong he was about Bush and the Iraq war. I happen to agree, as I was duped too at that time in my life. I was caught up in the propaganda. What is your thought on that? Was it what he wanted me or others to hear or a heart felt realization?

My take is that it communicates growth, and a critical thinking & learning mind. Maybe that’s because I’ve lived and experienced an Uncle Sam war zone.

More importantly, are there any positions you held in past, that you no longer do? Because brother Dave, that is an underlying premise of this site.

Exploiting crisis has been the political playbook for a while. And why not? It enables so much to get done that would otherwise never get passed through Congress. He promotes skepticism. There is nothing wrong with that. This war should never have started. There IS sticky business between Biden and the Ukraine. His JOB is to be skeptical. That is what journalists are supposed to do. Maybe they didn't always do that but they should be doing that now. Zelenskyy behaves as though the entire world OWES him. And he acts like we owe him. Why does he think we owe him? Well, maybe we should ask the President that question. They tore up the deal that would have stopped the war. And now we're bogged down with nukes on the table. It's grotesque. Thank god one person has the balls to talk about it.

Expand full comment

Actually, the Alt-Right and the far left talk about appeasement all the time. I am OK with “skepticism”, but there is no moral ambiguity here, Sasha. The war started because useful idiots (to borrow a term) like Tucker stood by and did nothing when Russia invaded and annexed Crimea. Appeasement only emboldened the Russians. We do owe Ukraine - everything. They fight and die so we don’t have to - at the moment. China watches as well. As one American general once said, the only thing worse than war is the idea that nothing is worth fighting for. I appreciate you responses, and I like your show, but I can’t go with you on this.

Russia is fighting Nazis in the Ukraine, taking back land that was recently theirs and securing their eastern border from NATO missiles and artillery. Ukraine is a pawn and it’s leader is hoarding billions of USD now that his gig as a dick playing pianist is over. He’s actually worse than Demented Joe.

2021 was a great year. Biden commands the mystifying withdrawal from Afghanistan while Zelensky joins in on the US hobby of

poking the Russian bear by wanting in on NATO and freezing the assets of opposition leader Viktor Medvedchuk, the Kremlin's most prominent ally in Ukraine. As military operations escalate, instead of pushing for peace, the DC bloodlust funds and encourages waging the proxy war in Ukraine against Russia. Protect the dirty politicians - Biden Pelosi Romney Kerry Clinton Foundation et al - money interests there, weapons, 48 bioweapon labs, money laundering, human trafficking, every dirty and evil thing they have their fingers into has been going on in NAZI Ukraine for decades now. With the government's formation of the reconstruction banking venture with BlackRock and JPMorgan Chase, all will profit from both the destruction and reconstruction of Ukraine.

Ukraine is so important that we’ll sacrifice every last Ukrainian to save it. While Zelensky’s inner circle is buying up expensive real estate in Switzerland, he stockpiles billions in accounts overseas, and the little Mrs. goes on a $40K shopping spree in Paris.

The big question these days is, "Does Tucker Carlson or any other public intellectual, pundit, commenter or influencer report anything that isn't already known?" No they do not. At this point, the overarching thrusts of news and propaganda in the U.S.A. are nothing but a constant drumbeat of variations on the godawful themes of corruption\perversion\depravity. By now the whole world knows the entire FEDGOV bureaucracy and those who lead it are laughably, pitifully, ridiculously corrupt. The crews of Joe Biden & Obama are the terror-clowns leading the corruption. Such wicked folk will not\cannot redress or reform themselves. They're always ready to open up the purse strings for endless war, but, hey, Social Security might go bankrupt so maybe we'd better raise the retirement age and lower benefits. And get those freeloaders off of food stamps.

What more can be said abut these people? But unless the American people are more vigilant, they'll continue to get away with it. If we are further enslaved, it's because we fell asleep at the wheel.

We may have one last shot at preventing our country from slipping away, but it's going to be a battle for the ages to dislodge and hold to account the criminals that rule us.

Quite some time ago Tucker totally dissed scientist Bill Nye, a man I respect. I had tuned in because I wanted to hear what Bill had to say. Tucker’s mind was made up, his intent was to destroy argument with his his own point of view and my guy Bill could not get a word in edgewise.

After that I really didn’t give a damn what Tucker Carlson had to say. Some years later he emerges as the darling of conservatism, and I for certain am no liberal; so I started listening again. We were doing okay until this episode.

Ukraine was promised protection from attack before NATO even became an issue or a part of the picture. It was given by Ronald Reagan in exchange for the 1,900 nuclear warheads that Ukraine gave up after the Soviet Union was dissolved. This is a matter of history. It does not take into account any government or leader or national failings of anyone.

Clearly that fact bothers almost no one.

Except me.

Expand full comment

Bill Nye is a hack and shill. He is wrong about everything (probably) and you would do well to be skeptical about him.

What you are missing on the agreement to protect is there were other agreements for NATO not to expand. But the biggest blindspot to this position is the US led coup of Ukraine in 2014. The US has broken the promises which were made to keep peace between Russia and the rest of the world.

How many thousand ethnic Russians had to be killed in the Donbas before Russia was justified in protecting them? The number was already more than 10k.

Being able to express differing views and debate issues has nearly become a lost art, and an extremely necessary component to any functioning “democracy”.

I, for one, also am irritated by that phraseology now, as it does not mean what the most prolific purveyors of it actually mean. When they say it, it’s more “my way or the highway”, by no means freedom of expression and all that goes with that precious freedom.

Expand full comment

He never said to hand Ukraine to Russia. He simply asks questions that everyone should be asking. Is it the best policy to fight a proxy war against Russia? Then he points out the obvious bullshit that our politicians spout of why we must support Ukraine, “to save democracy,” and then the guy they all worship, Zelensky, suspends democracy. Kind of messed up and proves his point all along, that their reasons for fighting this war are not what they are telling us and that real reason has to do with what the real reason always has to do with...MONEY! The many industrial complexes that fund our politicians campaigns and lifestyles are always the ones that benefit. Many American lives have paid the ultimate price for decisions like these, as has many lives of Ukrainians. Maybe, just maybe, we could have prevented this war in the first place. And, if not, we certainly could have helped bring it to an end many, many months ago. But then the raid on our treasury wouldn’t be open to defense contractors or to the investment banks that will get in on the action to rebuild Ukraine whenever this tragedy comes to an end.

Or you could just keep pretending that none of that is happening, and that he has no clue what he is talking about.

Expand full comment

Impossible, and dangerous from a logistical POV to have an election when your country is at war and under attack. USA suspended elections during WWII as well, as do all countries - nothing to do with “cancelling democracy”.

Expand full comment

Maybe so. Or, maybe Biden can show him how run an election off mail-in ballots. Regardless, the point is to highlight the BS that this had anything to do with “democracy” in the first place. This was, and is, about raiding the treasury and transferring more wealth from middle and lower classes to the elites. That’s what Iraq, the length of the Afghanistan conflict, this conflict, COVID, the Great Recession, and “the climate catastrophe” were/are all about too. At this rate, we will be serfs in the next decade or so.

Expand full comment

Mail-in ballots! If the post office hasn't been blown up by the Russians. Or the voter's house...or city. The Russians are and have always been ruthless imperialists against their neighbors. Tucker said he's rooting for them. Tucker loves the Hungarian autocrat Orban. Tucker earns his money being a professional agitator feeding red meat to people like the commenters here. In a few years he will be apologizing for being wrong about this. If the Russians takeover Ukraine it will be a genocidal bloodbath.

Expand full comment

Mail-in ballots was a poor attempt at humor. Yes, Tucker is an agitator, something we need when the entire media machine is in lockstep with our government. I can’t speak intelligently about Orban in Hungary other than to say he has been elected, but when you toe the line of the media establishment, which obviously hates him, it makes me think he is probably doing something right, and you are likely being mislead. I could be wrong here, but our media normally is so I like my chances.
