Cary Grant was once asked at a Dodger game for his autograph. After politely declining as only Cary Grants could, the man said, “if you don’t give me an autograph, my friends won’t believe I met you.” Cary Grants replied, “Really? You should get new friends.”
Many years ago I was upset at being attacked and lied about on an internet message board. A good friend of mine said "Those that believe it aren't your friends, and your friends won't believe it"
Now when I get accusations hurled at me I just "consider the source" and move on.
I learned long ago that engaging in a battle on social media is pointless, infuriating and a total waste of time, but only after I realized that I’d never convinced anyone about anything, nor had they convinced me. The real purpose of comment sections is to generate clicks and feed algorithms.
Actually Sasha has developed and fostered a great community of commentators from whom I have learned a lot (eg Sandra, HeyJude, Matt, Jeff, and many more). As well as a lot of veterans that have gravitated to her site like Seva, Matt, Danimal, Colonel, and others.
Agreed. I throughly enjoy reading Sasha’s commentors. To be clear, I was referring to comment sections like FB and X, where political discussions often degenerate into ferocious personal attacks. Sasha’s threads are generally thoughtful and civil.
What I meant was Trump helps people around him that are in need and he has always been that way something you don’t see Biden or other politicians doing and if so rarely
Trump actually owns businesses and employs people, and donated his Presidential salary. Biden has s*cked off the government teet for 5 decades and makes us pay for it.
Wow! That was brilliant! I'd wondered about this, as I've been following Tucker Carlson's career and ideas since reading his book a couple of years ago, and wondered ... He seems so cheerful so much of the time, obviously enjoys the h*** out of what he is doing. And he handled his being fired from Fox News with grace. What's his secret? Well, now we know, and in the context of his political outlook, it makes perfect sense! Care about the opinions of people who care about you!
Oh, and I also appreciate these being made available here.
If you’re in the zone with your mission in life, nothing can hurt you. Once the inner 🔥 is lit, it burns off the chatter of foolish people thinking they know more.
No one can more more then you when you’re speaking from the heart. It’s yours alone and it speaks the truth.
I haven't been able to watch this yet, but I agree 100%. I made this point recently about the "pressure" to tip everywhere. I don't feel any pressure and don't care about hitting NO - my give-a-damn is broke (and always has been) with people I don't know and who don't know me. If we've learned anything in the last 4 years it's that these people hate you and everything you believe and stand for, so WHY would you care one bit about what they think??
(FWIW on tipping since people seem to get all hot and bothered about it... I was a server/bartender in grad school and had a bakery/coffee shop for 4 years. I fully understand about tipping - and what it is SUPPOSED to be about. I have tipped well for good service even when the food wasn't great, because the server isn't the cook. I tip for good personal services rendered, like hair or a massage. I occasionally will tip at a counter-service place if the person/people were upbeat, friendly, and service-oriented. I do NOT tip otherwise although I'm not particularly offended by the grift either. It only works because people are doing it.)
Trump cares what people think and will praise those that say nice things about him. What Tucker is saying is very different from that. People can say good and bad things about him and he won’t care.
Interesting presentation. At first I didn't know how to respond to his 'I don't give to charity' comment, but then I started thinking about the people who do boast about sending a lot of money somewhere ,but they've been remarried several times and their kids have emotional issues due to emotional and financial neglect. He's right, miserable people placate themselves by throwing money at a situation, but ultimately, those recipients make no further demands on them. 'Limousine Liberals'. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't give to charity, just make sure you're attending to the ones God places right in front of you. P.S. It takes a bit of arrogance to say, 'I'm one of the most hated men in the world.', while 'well known'... he's not that important to anyone (outside of his family and friends and employees) to be 'hated'. Just a thought.
Some of my friends have worked in the non-profit sector, and they make incredible salaries. while doing little for the people they're supposed to help. IMO, non profits (AKA charities) exist to make the people who run them, and work for them, money. Their main recipients are themselves, in other words.
I'm sure there are good charities. But it's better and more direct, to give to the people around you who need help, IMO. Tip extra well for great service. Help out a friend in a bad situation. Send your niece to college if her parents can't, etc.
'Non-profit-sector' is a BIG umbrella. 'Charities' are a different animal. I would search out ratings systems (by independent organizations, not 'left or right') on what percentage of donations actually go to those whom they state are the recipients. There will be some overhead, but it shouldn't be half or more. What is the goal of the organization? I've seen what wonderful things small charities, with oversight, can do. Your giving can be your time, expertise, prayer, product donation or funds. Pray about it and see what the Lord calls you to.
In the last few years , I’ve gotten to the point I only worry about what those closest to me think of me, and what God thinks of me. The rest doesn’t matter anymore. Maybe I’ve finally matured.

I often reply to these online assaults..."You say that, like its some sort of Bad Thing?"

So true!! Tucker is a treasure.
I love this guy, even though I’ve never met him, don’t know him and he has no idea that I even exist.
What I meant was Trump helps people around him that are in need and he has always been that way something you don’t see Biden or other politicians doing and if so rarely
You are misinformed or deliberately spreading a lie. Please research before making false claims. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-56438914
Biden did, yes. Still is raking in the money. Despicable.
Also learn how to use proper spelling and grammar.
Gotta love the block feature. Goodbye, troll. Happy holidays.

Maybe you should research your misinformation before making wild claims in comments. https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/09/politics/forbes-400-donald-trump-wealth/index.html

Smile and forgive them them of their ignorance.

My dad was a bartender and had 10 kids; I tip at least 20% and say please and thank-you to all the service providers. Have a great holiday, amigo.
❤️Tucker..!! This the philosophy that Trump has and that’s why he’s so hated...
Trump cares what people think and will praise those that say nice things about him. What Tucker is saying is very different from that. People can say good and bad things about him and he won’t care.
Tucker is wise. I don't believe in "groups" of people either. Each person is an individual.

Loved the Tucker video! Thank you Sasha.
