We should all drop to our knees right now and thank God for Clarence Thomas.

Remember Clarence Thomas, and Sen. Joe Biden?

Biden has been a scoundrel his entire political life, literally from the start.

Oh, have a problem with billionaire support? So uncomfortable to think someone with power is not in service of the authoritarian left’s hyperbolic terror machine, huh?

Leslie, I want to see if we can find some basic common ground.

Do you think RFK Jr. should be afforded by the government, Secret Service protection?

Trump just came out formally advocating for RFK Jr’s SSP. Why Biden doesn’t make this happen only speaks to Biden’s character.

Biden may just be slow on uptake, we’ll see. I’m really happy right now… moments ago Trump announced Ohio Senator and Hillbilly Elegy author JD Vance to be his VP running mate.

JUST IN: The Biden White House caves and announces that Biden has ordered Secret Service protection for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Good job, Biden.

The announcement came just hours after Trump demanded that protection be given to RFK Jr.

"In light of what is going on in the world today, I believe it is imperative that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. receive Secret Service protection - immediately," Trump demanded on TRUTH.

"Given the history of the Kennedy Family, this is the obvious right thing to do!"

Jim, I just read in The Scroll a re-report of what Susan Crabtree @ RCP reported out Sunday which is: Trump's usual SS agents (exhausted by 7-day workload) had been replaced with some temps. Additionally, some local SS resources had been diverted to an event hosted by First Lady Jill Biden in nearby Pittsburgh. A development that one source described as 'f*cking unbelievable'. Further citing The Scroll, another 'source' told Crabtree that approval for the single SS counter-sniper team for Trump's rally was granted only 1-day prior. Which if true, may not have allowed enough time to survey and secure the area. I think the upcoming Congressional hearings with SS Director Kimberly Cheatle on the hot seat will confirm/deny what Crabtree reported. But if any of this is true, holy sh*t!

Expand full comment

Trump being 'Presidential' there, and now Biden taking his cues. Good to see this. The dicey part now is going to be the Congressional investigation into Trump's SS detail. Was it under-staffed and if so, why was that. I don't think Biden will announce 'more' SS protection afforded to Trump as this would indicate there wasn't enough in the first place. As the world turns...

LOL! The whole lawfare thing is collapsing.

Expand full comment

Lawfare is virtually illegal by definition, because it only works in the absence of genuine legal grounds. If there were legal grounds, it would stand on its own legs. Instead, it relies on trumped up charges, malicious prosecutions, constitutional violations, and fantasy legal theories without out rhyme or reason. Its practitioners should be disbarred.

Stocks are up today. I have Tesla stock and also several tech and growth ETFs. I just watched a financial video which said the way Trump handled being shot projected strength and confidence. It sure did. What a contrast with Sleepy Joe who’s ever more demented. Video said the market is now confident Trump will win the election and this sense of certainty is what the market loves so this is good news for the market. My AI stocks are doing great. The market also has a lot of confidence in AI which had already achieved remarkable results.

I like Tesla, Apple, Google and Microsoft. Any tech fund or growth mutual fund or ETF would have funds like this. Vanguard has some good ones. My 401K at work was with Vanguard so when I retired I just did a rollover to a Vanguard IRA. For a mutual fund they have a $3K minimum but with an ETF it’s only a dollar although there might be a charge to set it up when first going in. Here’s a video I watched this morning of two of the world’s top AI scientists, Ray Kurzweil and Ilya Sutskever. I’m not brilliant but I am bright enough to recognize brilliance and people like this along with Elon, Jensen Huang (Nvidia CEO) and others are certainly brilliant and very much worth following. Freya Aspinall is also a good one to follow. She’s a great spokesman for their cause. She’s working to make our fallen world a better place.

I'm long on those too. I'm keeping plenty of cash on sidelines now though in Vanguard money market funds (VUSXX and VMFXX) because I sense some parts of the market are a bit too frothy. Hold brokerage at several institutions but to get into above Vanguard fixed income funds the best place I've found to do it is with Chase -- because you can get it with low $ entry. Try getting into those funds at Schwab or equivalent by self-directed brokerage and they consider it an institutional investment and you need a $1M entry - which isn't possible for us normies.

Can the swamp left even talk about this? Without insult porn and vilifying Trump, is there anything left of the DNC platform? Can they even pretend to remain civil and still defend their own lawfare?

Expand full comment

They’ve NEVER had anything besides violent, hyperbolic rhetoric. Terroristic threats only work until the targets decide it doesn’t anymore.

The Left is really going to lose their minds over this one. Note that this was not a frivolous decision. Two former AGs (Murkasey & Meese) filed Amicus briefs on this point of law.

Expand full comment

This decision followed directly from an amicus brief filed by Meese, et al and which generated a concurrence from Clarence Thomas that restated most of the arguments. Cannon was simply following the direction of the high court, given that the concurence laid out black letter law.

Not to be technical but CT's comment was not a "concurrence", it was a comment that was not germane to the case in front of him, so that is called "dicta" which means that it has NO precedential or other legal standing. However, it is certainly an indication of how HE would rule if a similar case were argued before the full court. Judge Cannon was not following a SCOTUS decision. If Smith appeals and it goes to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, AND the Supreme Court agrees to hear the case (grants certiorari), they could issue a binding opinion. Most likely the Supreme Court would grant cert in a case like this as it is "novel" and of Constitutional importance. Or they could just let whatever the Circuit Court does stand. I guess we'll find out- but not before the election.

It might be enough to simply cast doubt on the validity of any such appointment considered in the future. It is also a reminder that the expired special counsel law was passed for some reason. Allowing expiration is an expression of legislative intent and it casts a shadow over Garland's appointment of Smith.

I have always been puzzled why Garland didn't simply tap one of the 93 sitting US attorneys. They don't suffer the infirmity that Smith carries. Maybe Garland couldn't convince any to accept the job. That should have been a hint that this was a bad path to follow.

Jack Smith has a very specialized practice: Anti-GOP/Conservative attack dog prosecutor specialist. See his fabricated case against former Virginia GOP Gov. McDonald. The conviction that Smith obtained was finally reversed 9-0 by the US Supreme Court. In this case: Justice delayed was Justice denied. If Smith's name was ever submitted to the US Senate for confirmation for ANYTHING it would cause a major uproar and unanimous opposition by GOP Senate members. It's unclear how many Democrat Senators he could get but I suspect it would not be unanimous. He is not a nice person.

This case was dismissed on constitutional grounds, but it would have also been dismissed for the same reason that the Baldwin case was. The FBI mishandled and tampered with the boxes of evidence and now, they cannot give a complete account of what documents were taken in the first place. No matter what, this case will go away.
