At first read on this, I was ready to push back a bit on your observation / hope that the new "woke" fundamentalism will provoke a pushback - only because because two generations of Americans now have grown up attending public schools that teach them that the United States is the most racist, evil, fascist nation on Earth. But in thinking about it, you may be write. We had eight generations of Americans who grew up being taught that our nation was the most blessed on Earth - but still always had a substantial group of angry anti-American sentiment out there despite that. So I'm cautiously hopeful you're right and that the non-dominant new-McCarthyism will eventually be challenged by decent folk on the Left (much as the original McCarthyism could only really be challenged by decent folk on the right).

I did notice you didn't include the Wall Street Journal on your list of failed newspapers (failed in the sense of being post-journalistic ghosts of themselves) - for now, that paper seems to be hanging in there, despite the public letter from 200 reporters demanding a more "woke" approach. The publisher publicly said "no" in a lengthy article, and their news coverage seems to have re-centered of late.

Keep up the good work!

No solutions (even about where to get unvarnished news) but only dire warnings. It's a schtick, Sasha, that you keep repeating over and over and over again. Maybe Trump will win, maybe, maybe, because there are people out there genuinely afraid of the rioters as opposed to the peaceful protests. Maybe it's just an attempt to get publicity, maybe it's to relieve the fear you have, but all in all it's the same old, same old Sasha, warning us about the possible inevitable maybe, maybe stuff that's going to happen. I don't even think you read the comment because you rarely, if ever, respond.
