Unless this story is useful to the Regime, it will die quickly.

Prayers for that troubled man.

Now, think of George Floyd who was played up incessantly, even though there was NO evidence of a murder.

The regime has made nudist David DePape the face of MAGA.

It is sad. You’re correct - he’s not from the maga crowd. Seems he’s pretty confused about how to connect the dots. At least he didn’t try & take down others with him.

It’s sad that he just wanted what we ALL want. ..PEACE ✌🏻An end to the American divide. He had a lawsuit against the Clinton foundation, yet somehow you blame MAGA extremism. When is this hatred to each other going to end? How many more young beautiful people need to light themselves on fire for this hatred to end?

No way did I blame ‘maga extremism’ for this guy’s suicide attempt. You misread what I wrote - To clarify, he wasn’t part of the maga crowd as the msm was trying to portray him. It was just another attempt to malign & blame maga by some. I don’t believe Make America Great Again is an extreme view. I 100% support it.

It's tragic that the message he wanted to bring to the world is one that those of us on Substack already know. We're in a terrible mess that gets worse daily, and his act of self-immolation won't be heard by those not yet in the know. The media will twist the story, blame his mental instability on Trump, and his 15 minutes of fame will be over. If he survives whatever life he has remaining will not be pleasant.

Expand full comment

Yeah that pretty much sums it up

You are the only one that has mentioned instability, you speak as though this was common knowledge and proven fact, what are your sources?

I may have jumped the gun, since in my book anyone who sets themselves on fire can't be regarded as stable. This article (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/what-we-know-about-max-azzarello-the-conspiracy-theorist-who-set-himself-on-fire-outside-trump-trial/ar-AA1nkdG2) does mention a marked change in his behavior after the death of his mother in 2013.

Three words come immediately to mind: Lee Harvey Oswald.

I'm not nearly as drenched in the JFK theories as many folks, but it's impossible to deny that Oswald was the CIA's patsy. So much deliberate misinformation was immediately disseminated about him by the government like his alleged allegiances, political ideology, etc. -- and yet no one was keeping a watchful eye on him all the time leading up to the event. The very same pattern four decades later with the 911 hijackers, where within 24 hours the NYT published an entire comprehensive section covering every aspect of all 20 terrorists and intimate details of their lives. Once again, this intel on potential threats is sitting at arms length yet were gaslit into believing it was an "oversight" to not consult it? We are fools voluntarily been fooled again and again.

I would suspect something similar at work here. Whether this poor, deluded fool was intentionally coaxed by elements of the Biden machine to take such an extremely self-harmful action or was just passively allowed to do so, that we are being instantaneously flooded with his lifetime of "conspiracy theories" to me says loud and clear that this is how our government wishes the sheep to view any one or any idea which questions their lies as a mentally unstable conspiracy whack job.

If you think too hard for yourself you will eventually set yourself on fire. Now run along, turn on The View, and take you SSRI's like a good, obedient citizen. Did I say citizen, I meant drone.

The narrative machine is whirring overtime tonight. Can’t wait to see the spin on the MSM. Pity this guy. He’s far worse off now than when he was simply depressed that his party let him down.

So tragic. This guy is seriously confused. I read his manifesto and he gets some things right, but is on the wrong track for an equal number of other things. Such a shame that he decided to do serious harm to himself in order to spread a “message” that is only half true and will end up being distorted and lied about it in the media. Not worth it and you’re much better off just praying and taking care of yourself and loved ones.

Addicted to the adrenaline or dopamine rush you get every time your trolling comments beget am emotional reaction.

It is very narcissistic to put yourself at the centre of the universe - dangerous and delusional as well. Because you never consider the possibility that someone with a view diametrically opposed to your own might actually have a more accurate and objective view of something than you do.

To think you are simply laughing at clowns is to think you own emotional reactions to something are not worth reflecting on and evaluating.

I suggest you reconsider:

This is what’s fascinating about these comments. A profoundly mentally ill man describes his political world view in detail and the comments are often effectively agreeing. His views are very hard to distinguish from widely held MAGA, Qanon, AntiVaxxer, and Left Wing conspiracy ideas.

Expand full comment

His views are the views of a person who has opened his eyes to a profoundly corrupt world. He’s worked for the campaigns of two Democratic congressmen over 10 years ago. He’s clearly stated that there’s virtually no Left Wing or Right wing, it’s just one cesspool of corruption and kleptocracy, a political theater with the illusion of democracy or a healthy choice for the widely misled public.

Yes, for as long as he remains alive he will, without knowing the particulars of his burn injuries and overall condition, likely remain in a state of perpetual agony.

But, I'm not sure, based just on the information Sasha provides on her post, I have not looked at his Substack, whether he was in fact pointing in a direction that readily tracks with our present partisan divide. Even though in the video he identified Peter Thiel as its mastermind, his indictment of the participants in the Ponzi scheme has the air of a meta-indictment of The Powers That Be. I was also struck by the contrast between his offer in the one post to spray alcohol on people to stop the spread of Covid and the photo he took of a Vaccine Card with "Ponzi" scrawled on it. It makes me wonder if a disillusionment with The Covid Narrative might have served as his breaking point. And his choice of Trump's trial to stage his act of self-immolation could be understood as an indictment of a power structure that is trying to distract us with Trump. That's not to say I think he's a Trump supporter. My guess is that he's a hard-core, disillusioned Bernie Bro who cracked. More generally, he comes across as a True Believer type who is capable of making very sudden and dramatic shifts in beliefs and ideological alignment.

I think all of us who have struggled to maintain our perspective and grip on reality over the last decade or so in the midst of the hall of mirrors unreality show that is our political, cultural, and media landscape, can sympathize with what this guy put himself through.

Anyway, I just wanted to offer that perspective.

And thanks for doing that. I for one can say "There but for the grace of God, go I" At the height of Covid tyranny there were days when I had the recurring pop up thoughts of suicide to end my misery.

This guy needs ro be spared mockery or trolling from anyone on either side of the great divide. Don't be evil!

Truly sad our government has been run into the ground by both parties. Biden just happens to be the worst in history, but I'm pretty sure all he is used for is guest appearances and a signature. Poor Max. I kind of agree with things he said in the video. We are in trouble.

i have read the facts on MSM that he self-immolated, but since he did not commit mass murder or harm others, his manifesto is not especially news-worthy.

The Daily Beast says -"published an online manifesto, declaring that he self-immolated to warn the world about an “apocalyptic fascist world coup.” "that rails against cryptocurrency, New York University, the Clintons, and the world’s governments—warning readers that they are “victims of a totalitarian con” akin to a massive Ponzi scheme.'

NY Mag: says that he chose the courthouse with trumps trial going on because there would be more people there and that he threw a bunch of pamphlets in the air which referred to New York University as a “mob front” and also mentioned former President George W. Bush, former Vice President Al Gore and the lawyer David Boies, who represented Mr. Gore in the 2000 presidential election recount.

In spite of what Stone says, the general consensus is that he is mentally ill. I did not see him referred to as a "right winger" and his manifesto was not about Trump.

Thank you Sasha for giving a more compassionate opinion on this tragedy. All day I have heard the most inhumane things said about this man. This man is a human being in a bad mental state who obviously knows a few truths. He is someone's son or brother or boyfriend etc., but most importantly he is a child of God. Shame on the vile people who have made jokes about his death today.
