The Dems are so arrogant and sloppy that they believe their own bullshit. Pete Hegseth is a brilliant fellow, has written several intellectual books on military politics and history as well. A military thinker. A Princeton and Harvard graduate back when that meant something. I got to meet him several times at alumni events.

But no, people around town in LA, oh Haha Trump picked a "weekend Fox tv host" and "He's a Ken Doll." Refusing to see or respect the outstanding military competence and awards, his intellectual a bility, and his gift in articulating his knowledge and viewpoint that is reflected in this media career.

He's the real deal. He's an imperfect man, and the perfect candidate for the job. He will do our country proud and defend and strengthen our nation.

I loved it when Kane (I think) tried to call him out on his out of wedlock daughter, and Hegseth replied with, “you mean (her name and her age)?” with a look of fatherly pride on his face.

Funny that the leftwing WOKE are the ones who have always heavily promoted sexual promiscuity ("The Sexual Revolution!"). And living together sans marriage.

But now they are telling Hegseth that it is a sin? They sound like the Puritans, suddenly. They swing wildly in their assertions. To whichever polar extreme suits them best at that moment.

If they are suddenly cleaving to the Ten Commandments, may I assume that they believe abortion is a sin too? As in "Thou Shalt Not Kill"? I would love to use my formidable debating skills to question them on that.

I wish someone had brought up Congress's slush fund for paying off sexual assault and illegitimate baby claims. That would have shut them up.

Yes, A, the odd combination of sexual license/Victorian morality pushed by feminism/the Left has puzzled me for years. Somebody(?) should explore contradiction in greater depth.

Pacificus, it has perplexed both of us, then. The contradictions drive me around the bend.

Since the late 60s, the Left has vehemently pushed every kind of sexual promiscuity and anti-marriage concept known to man. And they still do by 2025...even more vehemently.

As you know, we are now at the sordid point of authorities grooming children in the schools. Compared to this, siring a child out of wedlock seems very tame stuff indeed.

Feminism is based in part on "sexual freedom". Therefore these Senators advocate so-called "sexual freedom" for women, but not for men? VERY discriminatory.

Did the mother of Hegseth's child not know about birth control? Did SHE too commit a sin, according to these Senators? Or did she choose to become pregnant? Brings in questions about "My Body, My Choice", no? Should society have stopped her from having a child out of wedlock? Was that not her own choice after all?

Do the good Senators therefore advocate the moral code of the Ten Commandments? And that sex is within marriage only? Because it seems this is indeed what they are saying. That intact marriage is the social norm, whereas adultery is a social sin as well as a moral sin. Otherwise, why would they try to pin this on Hegseth as a wrongdoing? Isn't that the opposite of what the Left has proclaimed to us all since the 60s?

Whoa...so many questions on this issue. So many discrepancies.

There are so many States that do. This is only 1 example. I am sure that more than half of the Senate and House are posers. The skill set to get elected has little to do with the skill set to govern. It goes all the way to the top. It is long past time we get rid of hereditary positions and take all this seriously. The lack of serious candidates is what Trump tapped into. The people of CA have just witnessed the wages of not being serious with tens of thousands of homes and businesses burned to the ground. Meanwhile they all laugh and joke as all their tax dollars go to homeless boondoggles, solar and wind farms, and high speed trains to nowhere. Someone needs to hone in on that and ride that horse. My other joke was that Trump could be the Governor of CA after he gets done with the Presidency...

A friend of my daughter's attended undergrad at Georgetown and the summer after sophomore year she got an internship in the Senate. A sitting Senator (she described as in his 60s and married, of course) seduced her and gave her (a virgin) an STD. He told her he was putting meds in his wife's breakfast so she wouldn't get it. This meant that he was sleeping with at least three women. He was also described as his home state being in close proximity to DC. For Tim Kaine to bring up the affair Hegseth had when (as Mullins points out) so many of them have risky behavior at best and are egomaniacs at worst. Thank goodness for newer senators who are calling it like it really is!

The female Democrat Senators did not represent the female soldiers well. They lost control of their emotions and their behavior. In a combat situation this would be detrimental to their fellow soldiers.

Frankly, the female democrat senators showed why women are completely unsuited to combat roles.

I respectfully disagree. You are painting all women with one broad brush. The democrats senators are emotional and loud and screeching. Yes, they are all of those things but there are many women who are not like this. Please look again and perhaps broaden your assessment.

Expand full comment

Agree, but unfortunately those ladies fit the stereotype. It was like watching propaganda against big roles for women in the military. Very uncomfortable for a viewer. They need to go back to school and learn poise and “elocution” the way coeds did in the 1940s! A big disservice to women everywhere.

After watching that hideous display by members of my own sex, I feel I must apologize for being a woman. Those female Senators were shameful.

They set us back by eons. We are not all like them. For starters, I am not and never have been a feminist. Too smart for that rot.

Also a woman but would never apologize because the difference between conservatives and liberals was just beautifully displayed. We conserve, think, digest, respond. They are egomaniacs who are looking to grab headline and head nods from within. So I won't apologize because most women find that behavior abhorrent.

As far as overall cabinet secretaries, all you have to do is look at some that were confirmed for Biden's government. It's difficult to even pick one who has an exemplary record, in the hindsight their history provides us. I can think of at least two that have been absolute disasters. Such as Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas and Transportation Secretary Buttigieg. So in one sense, the bar set by the Biden folks is quite low. Also, Congress needs to seriously examine and perhaps have to approve not just a Cabinet Secretary, but also the several people directly under them in the structure of that particular agency. These government institutions have become physically HUGE, with hundreds of thousands of employees. Our US military is over three million soldiers. All of this is to say that just as DOGE is poised for the next administration. The Trump government should take a hard look at the construction and the administration of these agencies, and of how these agencies are run. I mention DOGE because it's easy to see there are improvements to be made that most likely could save our Country many dollars.
