I want to say something nice about a couple of people. First, I've not been a fan of Jon Stewart 2.0 (after he was apparently raped by Keith Olberman and grew a beard). BUT...he just stood up for Tony Hinchcllffe, who was making a JOKE (everyone knows islands don't float, etc.). and the other part, geez, you'd think the green new dealers would be happy to expose the need to clean the plastics out of the ocean, and so forth. makes one wonder. would it have been okay if he said 'Bali'? I mean, fish get trapped in it, that's bad, right? It's not even a racist joke. It's either funny or not funny.

The other defender, naturally was Joe Rogan, for similar reasons. e.g., it's a joke.

Similarly, we need someone to stand up for Ryan Girdusky, who made a joke about beepers he hopes did not go off, and was banned immediately from the Abbie Phillips show for fears that those few words emotionally scarred some hateful Palestinian first guy. The joke was in context wasn't it? again, it was a joke, and it's the same side everytime that is doing the banning and cancelling. Makes one wonder. What if Don Rickles was still alive and doing his act. Would they really mock personal attack : " and this so-called comedian calling a human being of color a hockey puck, how could he??!!'

I have often thought these past several years, by the grace of God, Rickles is no longer with us. Never liked his act, but he must be turning over in his grave, watching HUMOR take its last, dying breath.

You can still hear his voice, though, as you get on that ride in Anaheim with Tom Hanks. to each his own, I thought he was funny. Did you see 'Am I Racist'? I laughed at that. I read someone call 'fake moral outrage/offense', I think that's really more the issue. Not even the fragile blue team was really injured by these jokes, they just pretend they are to feign moral superiority.

I want to stand up for San Francisco a little too, though I have not lived there in about 20 years. The 49'ers knew Nick Bossa (star defensive end from THE Ohio State) was a republican when they hired him. He co-exists as the better blue people say, even wearing a MAGA hat recently, and no one says a word. Like George Schultz and his wife, they lived here without being hit on top of the head with a hammer. Tony Bordain couldn't understand SF is not Berkeley.

p.s. just read your credentials, so pardon the question. I am anxious like most people are anxious, sometimes more so, it seems I never took a psychotropic medication, and really only one sounds attractive/ like it might really work: Xanax. I mean, I could never take Prozac cause Del Shannon took that and killed himself. of course, the medical community, feeling exceedingly butt hurt by all the inconvenient questions of how they behaved during COVID (rather like self-appointed demi-gods) and over-prescribed opiates until the death numbers set records, now I read have fallen back into a more 'holliistic pyramids, crystals, and service animals on ZOOM appointment treatment preference' with little to no RX refills. That'll show YOU. they come up with some excuse generally about the 'addictive potential' to predispose such prescriptions--they are not meant for long-term use, but don't worry the same about such drugs as Omeprazole/Prilosec--which people take for years and years because when they stop even for a day or two, it feels like their stomach is on fire. or statins. those are taken forever, hence rather addictive by definition.

So, here's the question, from your professional point of view: why not Xanax---even biting half of one, sometimes? What's so bad, really, about Xanax/better than pyramids, crystals, and cambucha with hot yoga on zoom, does this drug help your patients, yes or no?

IF you are addressing these concerns directly to Me, I can confidently say I have worked very successfully to dismantle Anxiety Disorder issues and panic attacks, without the use of meds. There IS a way to heal completely from anxiety episodes, but most (all) in the psychotherapeutic world do not understand what drives anxious, out of control reactions, nor why they 'seem' to spontaneously "come outta nowhere."

This article may be useful, in terms of enlightening you about anxiety that's not situationally driven, but seems to always be lurking in the background of one's life: https://sharischreiber.com/the-panic-monster-doesnt-live-here-anymore/

My expertise and lengthy experience in this arena helps people dismantle their anxiety reflex more easily than they have believed possible. It takes a bit of hands-on help in context of educating, supporting and retraining, but it's well worth the effort to be anxiety-free for the duration of one's life.

As for your question re Xanax~ yes, of course you can self-medicate~ but it's like slapping a Bandaid on a deep, bleeding gash in the flesh, which only provides a modicum of temporary relief. Hope this helps clarify your concerns.
