Your comment reminds me that the best teachers I had in college were in Philadelphia Community College and Delaware County Community College. Regular classes were at Drexel U and mba at St Joe’s on GI Bill. I regret I could not have signed up for your Rock History class; it sounds fun and fascinating. I'm a Stones person too. I saw them do a concert in Detroit once (Sixties or Seventies) that I will never forget. I still have a collection of most of their albums on vinyl. I have come around to your viewpoint on Vivek. I just realized yesterday that I have not been giving Ramaswamy serious consideration as a candidate because he is so behind in the polls. When I think about who he is, I am very aligned with his perspective. He is young, but that is better than being too old. I read his book on woke capital and really liked it.

I saw a video of Vivek Ramaswamy recently at a Townhall meeting where he was asked what he would do on his first day as president. He said he would issue an Executive Order banning race based affirmative action. That’s exactly the opposite of what Biden did on his first day in office which was to issue an Executive Order to replace meritocracy wherever it can be found with Equity aka Equal Outcomes. This actually highlighted the profound difference between the Woke vs the nonWoke in our society. It seems a simple thing for a county to have enough ballots, and I doubt that Houston is the only city in Texas turning "blue."
It is very easy to cheat in urban areas, and even a little cheating in an urban area by sheer numbers can disenfranchise large numbers of rural voters. Do their voices not count?
Also, Republicans tend to be in person, election day voters, so if Houston is "running out" of ballots, one could construe it as a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise Republican voters. I'm guessing that's what the legislature thought. Much like the whole "oops the voting machines don't work" trick in Maircopa in 2022, this was a deliberate attempt to sabotage Republican chances. It's a valid conclusion as these things have a tendency of only going one way.
As for what happens? I don't know. What happens when you call the integrity of any election into question, either by throwing out all the votes or making the election so chaotic and so untrustworthy (2020, fighting ID requirements for voting or cleaning up voter rolls because somehow you think black people are incapable of following directions or having IDs, which suggests a strong bit of racism on your part) that large numbers of people start to believe that elections are no longer a method to voice their displeasure or to create change and no longer a true measure of what the citizenry thinks? I think I'd worry more about that then getting my tighty whities in wad over a very narrow law in Texas that seems quite easy to comply with.
Seva, I always find your posts honest and direct. But I respectfully disagree. Let’s be realistic here. What difference does it make that a few hundred thousand read Substack and get to the truth mass media does not cover? The power belongs to them. On all levels. Why will they give it up? The corruption, the lies, the immoral and illegal actions have been exposed, but nothing changed. Nobody has been held accountable. That should be most alarming to sane people. We were always the country of law, but seems we no longer are. The legal system appears to be corrupted too, with many recent facts pointing to it. Can we still trust that we will overcome it by simply casting ballots in the next election for the right person? Seems a little naive.

Here’s a video about the black wilding Sunday night in the loop in downtown Chicago. This Hindu saint though considered self-control basic for being human. At one point in the book he said “Discipline gives strength. A bird gets its strength from air. A king from his army. The day after the election in 2016 I went to teach class (rock history at a community college) in the same room as a female teacher (as usual). Her personality and demeanor had changed completely.
As I approached the podium she snarled, “I just had to talk about the election for the entirety of my class.”
I replied, “Really? What subject do you teach?”
“English” she said.
Interesting, I thought. Nothing to do with English.
I started my class with , “The previous teacher said that she talked about the election for her entire class. Would you like that?” to which they simultaneously replied, “no”.
I said, “good, me either!” and laughed. They did too.
That woman never regained her, previous positive, friendly personality.
Stunning to witness. I’ve seen people have less of a reaction to a death in the family and that’s how the media framed it.
I do understand how to feel disgust and/or heartbreak at the media’s focus. They can exist simultaneously. I have to sprinkle in humor or it’s too much to take. And faith. I practice at it, not something I had most of my life. It helps. Especially when so many people don’t understand me anymore. Maybe they never did. Your comment reminds me that the best teachers I had in college were in Philadelphia Community College and Delaware County Community College. Regular classes were at Drexel U and mba at St Joe’s on GI Bill. I regret I could not have signed up for your Rock History class; it sounds fun and fascinating. I grew up in 60’s also and hung with the crowd that thought the Beatles were for the Hippies and the Stones were the dangerous bad group. I still prefer the Stones, Doors, Janis. I'm a Stones person too. I saw them do a concert in Detroit once (Sixties or Seventies) that I will never forget. I still have a collection of most of their albums on vinyl. They offered $1 million for a fictitious dossier written by a foreign spy to try to frame me with treason. They shattered countless lives.
The Durham Report proves that the key figures involved knew from the start that the Russia Collusion conspiracy theory was a lie. The FBI launched their witch hunt without a scrap of legitimate evidence—and when they came upon exonerating information time after time, they covered it up and kept the hoax going forward.
The sickness was driven from the very top. FBI Director James Comey constantly pressured agents for more surveillance and warrants, demanding to know over and over “Where is the FISA, where is the FISA?”
Barack Obama and Joe Biden were in on it, too. They were briefed in August 2016 on reports that Clinton planned to “vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by the Russian Security Services.”
They knew the truth, yet they put our country through hell.
As savage and cruel as the Russia Hoax was for me, my family, my staff, and so many innocent bystanders, the real victims were the American People.

Ukraine has been utterly devastated. Untold numbers of people have been killed. And we could very well end up in World War III.
As the Twitter Files have proven, the Radical Left establishment also used the Russia Hoax to attack freedom of speech. They built a sprawling domestic censorship regime under the guise of combatting so-called “Russian disinformation”—which they quickly defined to include any content they did not like.
The intelligence community, the media, and the Silicon Valley tech companies then deployed this very pretext, “Russian disinformation,” to censor the Biden corruption scandal in 2020—censorship orchestrated, as we now know, by the Biden campaign.
In one poll last year, 79 percent of Americans following the story about Hunter Biden’s sordid laptop said truthful coverage of that wrongly censored story would have changed the outcome of the election. Our country is now paying a very steep price.
Perhaps most dangerous of all, the Russia Hoax normalized the weaponization of law enforcement against the Left’s political enemies. The Radical Democrats and their media partners now cheer as Biden’s DOJ demands the FBI investigate parents at school board meetings, deploys heavily armed teams to arrest pro-life activists, and pursues an all-out persecution of Joe Biden’s leading opponent for the presidency.
These corrupted agencies have interfered in every election since 2016—and they are interfering in the 2024 election before our very eyes.

Trump or his organization is shelling out at least $40M in lawyer fees, again, for being politically persecuted by the U.S. Government - his chief political rival. Think about that. I was a soldier serving in Germany in the late 80's when the communists were running Russia. That is now here(both US political parties) and it appears only one guy's movement is against it.
The legal fees should not even be needed, but that is how Lawfare works: it is the process that financially ruins people and that is the goal.

There are many comment sections and a large swath of twitter that are overrun by a relatively small number of very vocal leftists. I'm sure some of them are paid and that's all they do, while a whole bunch are dedicated morons. Most of the dissenting voices are busy paying their bills and being productive members of society. I would bet far more of the people demanding living wages for little to no work are of the group hiding behind door number one.

I saw a video of Vivek Ramaswamy recently at a Townhall meeting where he was asked what he would do on his first day as president. He said he would issue an Executive Order banning race based affirmative action. That’s exactly the opposite of what Biden did on his first day in office which was to issue an Executive Order to replace meritocracy wherever it can be found with Equity aka Equal Outcomes. This actually highlighted the profound difference between the Woke vs the nonWoke in our society. I just reread 1984. Never before have I felt so close to that being our actual reality. Why is it no one in Washington uses the term TREASON? They use all the other words but never treason. One thing I know for sure, if they'd charge this family with treason and follow the punishment for it- this won't happen again, at least, not for a very, very long time. JB is a treasonous traitor to our country. He should be charged as such and the penalty for treason carried out.

It seems a simple thing for a county to have enough ballots, and I doubt that Houston is the only city in Texas turning "blue."
It is very easy to cheat in urban areas, and even a little cheating in an urban area by sheer numbers can disenfranchise large numbers of rural voters. Do their voices not count?
Also, Republicans tend to be in person, election day voters, so if Houston is "running out" of ballots, one could construe it as a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise Republican voters. I'm guessing that's what the legislature thought. Much like the whole "oops the voting machines don't work" trick in Maircopa in 2022, this was a deliberate attempt to sabotage Republican chances. It's a valid conclusion as these things have a tendency of only going one way.
As for what happens? I don't know. What happens when you call the integrity of any election into question, either by throwing out all the votes or making the election so chaotic and so untrustworthy (2020, fighting ID requirements for voting or cleaning up voter rolls because somehow you think black people are incapable of following directions or having IDs, which suggests a strong bit of racism on your part) that large numbers of people start to believe that elections are no longer a method to voice their displeasure or to create change and no longer a true measure of what the citizenry thinks? I think I'd worry more about that then getting my tighty whities in wad over a very narrow law in Texas that seems quite easy to comply with.
Seva, I always find your posts honest and direct. But I respectfully disagree. Let’s be realistic here. What difference does it make that a few hundred thousand read Substack and get to the truth mass media does not cover? The power belongs to them. On all levels. Why will they give it up? The corruption, the lies, the immoral and illegal actions have been exposed, but nothing changed. Nobody has been held accountable. That should be most alarming to sane people. We were always the country of law, but seems we no longer are. The legal system appears to be corrupted too, with many recent facts pointing to it. Can we still trust that we will overcome it by simply casting ballots in the next election for the right person? Seems a little naive.
Perhaps it’s time to go our separate ways. We’ll find out in about 18 months.

This Hindu saint though considered self-control basic for being human. At one point in the book he said “Discipline gives strength. A bird gets its strength from air. A king from his army. A man from his sense of discipline. Without discipline a man, be he a king or a Yogi, is but a human beast.” I never forgot that. It made a great impression on me. I live in Chicago so I see daily evidence of the collapse of internal restraints that cause more and more to behave more like human beasts rather than human beings. This does not bode well for our future.

It must be extremely painful to live in Chicago as it is destroyed like this! When I was living near Detroit I used to visit Chicago occasionally. It is one of our great cities! I am kind of a foodie, and I loved the patchwork of ethnic neighborhoods with excellent restaurants.
There seems to be a disturbing pattern of interference by Federal Law enforcement prior to the congressional testimony from witnesses, whistleblowers, etc. Examples include:
-Devon Archer: 2 days before Archer was scheduled to testify, DOJ sends letter to Court to set date to schedule Archer to go to prison.
-Matt Taibbi: IRS visits his home on day he's scheduled to testify before Congress.
-Sam Bank Fried: Sam Bankman-Fried was arrested in the Bahamas, a day before he was expected to testify on the sudden collapse of FTX before the House Committee on Financial Services.
